We continue our summer teaching series COLLIDE, we examine the life of a powerful political and military leader. Though he actually asked one of the most important questions recorded in the Gospels, his propensity for “people pleasing” caused him to miss the greatest opportunity of his life. As we study his encounter with Jesus, we will take some time of introspection to examine our own lives and see how our tendencies toward people-pleasing may be robbing us of life transforming, GOD-moments! I’m excited to be launching our July teaching series that we’ve entitled “COLLIDE”. Each week we’ll examine a life that was on a collision course with GOD-in-the-Flesh! We’ll see how through that face-to-face encounter their habits or hurts or hang-ups were forever transformed and their world view forever reshaped. We’ll also see how Jesus still meets those needs in the lives of those of men and women today. This morning we’ll see what happens when our doubts “COLLIDE” with Jesus. Please know that today will be different in order and form. And, even though the “preaching” will not feel normal today, (I know some of you are thinking “it’s never normal around here”), we will be proclaiming the Good News of God’s marvelous Love through the vision that HE has given us for ministry as a church. I’m praying that GOD will stir our hearts today to commit for the first time, or recommit afresh, to be the church GOD has called Riverbluff to be in our “AOA”, in our City, in our Nation, and in the uttermost parts of our World.
