The party gathers some political gossipy tidbits, Cor’s long awaited plan is finally put into action, Ash gets into a fight with a suitor of Leila’s, Leila gets even more practiced at averting her eyes, Ser Selwyn tries to keep the party from getting too rowdy (with little success) while they prepare for their quest into the swamp to search for lost friends and seek out the old hag.

After visiting Leila’s father, a bleeding and beaten Stephanos enters the bar. Ser Selwyn, Ash and Cor go to the blacksmith to maintain their gear while Leyla slips off into the woods with Stephanos to tell him one of her deepest secrets.

Party split. Ash and Ser Selwyn want to get a boat to see the Old Hag and go and negotiate to hire one. Meanwhile Cor and Leyla go visit Pat to catch him up on the events of New Forlonde. Cor tagged along hoping to spy on Leyla’s sister Cassia.

A half-dead stranger at the bar in the morning turns out to be someone from Ash’s past.

The players catch up with contacts and friends in Shinrin. Cor gets served what he asked for… soup? The townsfolk have a mixture of excitement and reservation about the arrival of the settlers and the party is in the middle of it all.

If you don’t want to listen to all of chapter 1 but just pick up with Chapter 2 this episode recaps the most significant events for going forward. Welcome to Chapter 2: Ways of the Jungle.

Rumours are collected, stomped or spread by the party as they come up to Shinrin. Checking in with Ser Thomas they get paid for their mission and head to the bar for a well deserved drink. The whole town is excited to meet the new settlers and form their own opinions of these wealthy outsiders.

Ser Selwyn and the party is given some criticism for how he handled their last few battles. Then on top of this they encounter an old rival on the road who refuses to let them pass.

A spidery visitor infiltrates the camp at night.

The battle continues and the party is separated and extremely outnumbered. Some new tactics though begin to change the tide of battle.

A fierce battle ensues. The party and settlers are fighting for their lives as hairy four-armed spidery humanoids descend from the trees above. Restrained by nets of spider webs the party is in their stickiest situation yet.

The party arrives at the Craftsman watch tower and is congratulated on their progress protecting the settlers. All of whom are still alive. But then as they travel on, the path and trees above become more and more coated in thick cobwebs.

Ser Selwyn is put under a curse and his return to the camp crashes the party. Leila, when she finally returns to camp, finds someone she had always overlooked suddenly much more attractive. Ash has his first kiss and a few other firsts too.

It is Midsummer’s Eve and the celebration has begun. Ser Selwyn and Leila are magically abducted meanwhile Ash meets some very attractive travelers who have come to enjoy the party.

The party must pay a hefty toll to pass through hostile territory. Or they could fight their way through. Or they could think of something totally unexpected and role-play a new solution.

Ser Selwyn pays a quick visit to Club Petal before leaving back for Shinrin with the 20 or so settlers. Cor gets himself promoted and Ash makes some new friends. It’s coming up to Midsummer’s Eve and so the party makes plans to have their own roadside celebration of this ancient festival.

A relaxing night at the bar gets awkward as Leila meets a handsome and flattering noble amongst the settlers going to Shinrin.

Ash and Cor spread the news of discovering slaves in the hold of the Marietta. Then later, Ser Selwyn is given a mysterious letter inviting him to meet someone on the edge of town.

The Craftsman of New Forlonde are attacked and it’s the party to the rescue. Or is it? Murders and magic and rooftop chases are all going on while Leila has to weigh her loyalties and choose who dies.

Cor has a plan to capture his enemy. But the intrigue thickens as his opponent seems to have layers of contingencies in place.
