The Good Brothers are kicking off their 2022 reviews by returning back to the future and picking up where they left off in the Batman Beyond watch order with the episode "April Moon." While the episode may not have a lot to remember when it comes to nostalgia for the hosts, they sure have a lot to say about the plot after this watch. Listen as they struggle to figure out where certain aspects of the story go, who the heroes are and why the main plot point centers around a bowl of cereal. With some fun visuals, Cal and Liam talk about the choice to equip one character with "buzzsaw knees" and whether one character's look is based off of the title character from the 90's sitcom Becker. Music also leads to a long discussion around the choice to use more traditional instruments in lieu of the rock drums, guitars and synth that usually contributes to the soundtrack. Before leaving the year 2021 behind for good, the hosts take one final look at the year and recap their top 5 highest ranked episodes as well as their lowest ranked episodes of 2021. This time of year is known to be the season of light, so why not shine a big ol' spotlight on one of the original seven Justice League members? As the title would suggest, the Good Brothers discuss all things Shayera Hol of Thanagar for her appearances in season one of JL. From her first appearance in "Secret Origins" all the way up through the season one finale "The Savage Time", the hosts highlight the development of what was likely the most surprising inclusion for the DCAU incarnation of the super team. After last week's exciting culmination of spoooooky season, this week brings the Good Brothers back to the DCAU and to Dakota with Static Shock and this week's episode "Grounded." Director James Tucker pens a series departure where the big bad isn't your typical Bang Baby of the week. Instead, Static finds himself face to face with a living amoeba and a subplot that has Frieda at war with the school admins about funding for the school paper. Hear the hosts discuss plot elements and visuals reminiscent of Scooby-Doo and a voice cast of 45 year-olds playing teenagers.
