Liverpool take control of their last 16 tie against Inter as two late strikes seal victory in Milan, while in Austria, German champions Bayern rescue a draw against knockout stage debutants Salzburg. The Round of 16 started in style as Paris St Germain edged out Real Madrid in the French capital thanks to some late Kylian Mbappe magic. Meanwhile in Portugal Manchester City hit five against a shell shocked Sporting Lisbon side. We hear from both victorious managers, Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola, as well as Thibaut Courtois, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez.

On the last night of Group Stage action, Barcelona fail to reach the knockout phase for the first time in 20 years. Xavi’s men lost 3-0 to Bayern as Benfica beat Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 to progress – we hear from Roman Yaremchuk who opened the scoring for the Portuguese side. Juventus seal top spot in Group H with a 1-0 win over Malmo, as Chelsea were held 3-3 by Zenit – a disappointed Blues boss Thomas Tuchel shares his thoughts. A youthful Manchester United side draw 1-1 with Young Boys and we hear from goalscorer Mason Greenwood. And in Group G, Lille and Salzburg beat Wolfsburg and Sevilla respectively to cement their places in the Round of 16.

As the Group Stage reaches its climax, Atletico overcome Porto to become the latest team to book their place in the Round of 16. Diego Simeone’s men won 3-1 in Portugal while Milan went down 2-1 at home to Liverpool – we hear from their manager Jurgen Klopp as the Reds made it 6 wins out of 6 in Group B. Real Madrid sealed top spot in Group D with a 2-0 win over Inter - we hear from their defender Denzel Dumfries. And in Germany RB Leipzig beat Group A winner Manchester City to qualify for the Europa League – we get reaction from a disappointed Pep Guardiola. Elsewhere there were convincing wins for Ajax, Dortmund and Paris.

Matchday 5 was rounded off with 5 more teams confirming their places in the Round of 16: City and Paris both progress from Group A despite the French side losing 2-1 in Manchester; Real Madrid and Inter qualify from Group D after convincing wins; and Sporting go through as runners up behind Ajax in Group C after a dramatic 3-1 victory over Dortmund. Elsewhere in Group B, Liverpool maintain their 100% record against Porto and Milan keep their qualification hopes alive after a dramatic late winner against Atletico. We hear from Jurgen Klopp, Thiago, Bernardo Silva and Sebastien Haller.

On the penultimate Matchday of the Group Stage two more teams seal their places in the Round of 16 – Michael Carrick’s Manchester United qualify after a 2-0 win at Villareal and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea blow Juventus away 4-0 at Stamford Bridge to progress. We hear from both managers as well as defenders Harry Maguire and Trevor Chalobah. There were also important wins for Lille and Sevilla, Barcelona and Benfica shared the spoils in Spain, while Robert Lewandowski was on the scoresheet yet again as Bayern sealed top spot in their group
