Inter take a big step towards knockout stage football with a 1-0 victory over Barcelona at San Siro. Elsewhere in that section, Bayern continue their 100% start with a 5-0 victory over Plzen and we hear from one of their goalscorers Sadio Mane. In Group A, Napoli stun Ajax in Amsterdam while Liverpool cruise past Rangers at Anfield – we hear from Jurgen Klopp, Mo Salah and Allan McGregor. There were also impressive wins for Club Brugge, Porto and Marseille.

Erling Haaland scored a late winner against his former employers as Manchester City come from behind to overcome Dortmund 2-1. Elsewhere, Benfica beat Juventus 2-1 in Turin and Chelsea were held at home by Salzburg in Graham Potter’s first game in charge. There were also comfortable victories for Real Madrid, Paris, Napoli and Milan. We hear from City’s hero Haaland, disappointed Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou as well as new Chelsea boss Graham Potter.

Robert Lewandowski’s return to Bayern ends in defeat, as Barca lose 2-0. Meanwhile, Sporting stun Tottenham with two added time strikes, and Liverpool leave it late to narrowly beat Ajax 2-1. There were also impressive victories for Eintracht Frankfurt, Inter, Bayer Leverkusen and Club Brugge, who beat Porto 4-0 in Portugal. We hear from Brugge’s player of the match Ferran Jutgla, Bayern matchwinner Leroy Sane, defeated Spurs boss Antonio Conte, as well as Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Virgil van Dijk.  

It's goals galore on the second night of this year’s UEFA Champions League. Napoli stun Liverpool 4-1 in Italy, thanks to a Piotr Zielinski brace. Robert Lewandowski scores a hat-trick as Barcelona cruise past Plzen, while Ajax and Sporting also secure big opening game victories. Leroy Sane opens the scoring as Bayern beat Inter 2-0, and Richarlison scores twice as Tottenham secure three points against Marseille. We hear from Jurgen Klopp in the Liverpool camp, Tottenham’s Antonio Conte, Harry Kane and Ivan Perisic, plus Ajax’s Player of the Match Mohammed Kudus.

The UEFA Champions League returns with a shock on the opening night. Dinamo Zagreb defeat Chelsea 1-0 in Croatia, thanks to Mislav Orsic’s first half strike. There were no such problems for 14-time European Champions Real Madrid who beat Celtic 3-0 in Scotland, while a Kylian Mbappe inspired Paris Saint-Germain edge past Juventus, and Manchester City cruise to victory over Sevilla thanks to a Erling Haaland brace. We hear from Kevin De Bruyne in the City camp, Celtic’s Callum McGregor, Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti, as well as Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel and Mason Mount.  

Real Madrid seal their 14th European title with a 1-0 win over Liverpool thanks to a second half goal from Vinícius Jr. We hear from the jubilant Madrid camp, including player of the match Thibaut Courtois, Luka Modrić and manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Real Madrid continue their sensational run in this season’s UEFA Champions League, leaving it late to come from behind and beat Manchester City 3-1 after extra time in Spain. It means Los Blancos progress 6-5 on aggregate and will face Liverpool in the final on May 28th. We review an incredible night of drama at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, and preview the showpiece event in Paris.  

Liverpool made it through to their third Champions League final in five years after coming back from 2-0 down at half time to beat Villarreal 3-2 on the night and 5-2 on aggregate. We hear from manager Jurgen Klopp as well as Fabinho and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Plus we look ahead to Wednesday night’s other semi-final second leg encounter where Manchester City travel to Real Madrid with a narrow 4-3 advantage.

Sadio Mane helped Liverpool to a 2-0 win over Villarreal in the first leg of the semi-finals. The semi-finals kicked off in style as Manchester City overcame thirteen-time winners Real Madrid 4-3 in England. Plus we hear from Jurgen Klopp previewing Wednesday’s semi-final first leg between Liverpool and Villarreal at Anfield.

A goalless draw in Madrid ensures Manchester City progress to the Champions League semi-finals at the expense of Atletico. Elsewhere, Liverpool knock out Benfica after a 3-3 draw at Anfield, meaning the English side progress 6-4 on aggregate. We hear from City defender John Stones, as well as Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and captain Jordan Henderson.

Real Madrid progress to the semi-finals at the expense of Chelsea with a classic 5-4 aggregate win. Elsewhere, Villarreal knock out Bayern thanks to a late Samuel Chukwueze goal. We hear from Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric, as well as Villarreal goalscorer Chukwueze, and Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann.

In the night’s other quarter-final first leg, Villarreal continue their brilliant Champions League campaign defeating Bayern 1-0 in Spain. We hear from match-winner Arnaut Danjuma as well as Real Madrid’s David Alaba, Thibaut Courtois and Carlo Ancelotti. Plus, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel gives his verdict.

As the quarter-final first legs kick off, Kevin De Bruyne’s second half strike gives Manchester City the edge against Atletico. Meanwhile in Portugal, Luis Diaz inspires Liverpool to a 3-1 victory over Benfica. We hear from Jurgen Klopp, Andy Robertson, Pep Guardiola, Jan Vertonghen and match-winner Kevin De Bruyne.

Villarreal and Chelsea complete the Champions League quarter-final line-up. Unai Emery’s team produced a magical away performance beating Juventus 3-0 in Turin to progress 4-1 on aggregate. While in France, Chelsea came from behind to defeat Lille 2-1 on the night – 4-1 on aggregate. We hear from Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt as well as Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel and captain Cesar Azpilicueta.  

Atletico and Benfica progress to the last 8 after hard fought away victories against Manchester United and Ajax respectively. Diego Simeone’s side triumphed 1-0 at Old Trafford thanks to a first half Renan Lodi header – we hear from both goalkeepers, David de Gea and Jan Oblak. While in Amsterdam, a late second half strike from Darwin Nunez secures Benfica a spot in the quarter finals at the expense of a dominant Ajax side – we get reaction from their disappointed captain Dusan Tadic.

Real Madrid stage a famous comeback to stun Paris from two goals down.  Talismanic forward Karim Benzema scored an incredible second half hatrick in the Spanish capital, as the 13 time European Champions reach the quarter finals.  Meanwhile, it was a far quieter affair in Manchester - a goalless draw with Sporting saw Pep Guardiola’s City side cruise in to the last eight. We have reaction from Guardiola and Fernandinho in the City camp and from David Alaba from a delighted Real Madrid dressing room. 

Bayern and Liverpool become the first two sides into this season’s quarter finals after contrasting second leg displays this evening. In Germany, Bayern overpowered Salzburg 7-1 on the night to progress 8-2 on aggregate with Robert Lewandowski hitting an historic twelve minute first half hat-trick. While at Anfield, a superb Lautaro Martinez strike secured a win on the night for Inter but it was a defeat on aggregate for the Italians as Liverpool edged through to the last eight. We get reaction from Jurgen Klopp, Mo Salah and Serge Gnabry and hear from Man City manager Pep Guardiola ahead of his side’s second leg against Sporting tomorrow.

A late Anthony Elanga equaliser rescues Manchester Unted against Atletico, whilst in Lisbon Benfica and Ajax play out a pulsating 2-2 draw. We hear from Jan Vertonghen and Dusan Tadic, plus Ralf Rangnick gives his assessment as we head to the second legs in a fortnight.

Chelsea see off Lille 2-0 at Stamford Bridge as Villareal come from behind to hold Juventus to a 1-1 draw. We hear from Blues manager Thomas Tuchel and goalscorer Kai Havertz, plus Juve defender Matthijs de Ligt gives his reaction with their tie wide open ahead of the second leg in Turin.
