'The Employer Branding Show' - Thursday, December 3, 2009 8PM EST The HR Happy Hour is back with to talk about 'Employer Branding'. What is Employer Branding, why is it important to an organization, and how is it different from consumer branding are some of the topics that we will explore this week. HR/Recruiting and Marketing departments are slowly but surely evolving to embrace social media – some faster than others. And both departments appear to continue to struggle with how to best use emerging tools to recruit customers and employees alike. Who owns 'branding' and how can HR/Recruiting work more efficiently with Marketing in shaping and managing the brand. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 - 8pm EST, 7pm CST. The HR Happy Hour goes back on the road with a special live show from the Fail Spectacularly event in Chicago, IL. Thursday, September 10 - 8PM EDT Due to a scheduling conflict, the 'HR and Small Business' show scheduled for September 11, has been postponed and will be re-scheduled. In its place, Shauna and I will open up the Happy Hour phones, and take calls on pretty much any topic, HR Blogging transparency, in-process and upcoming HR and Recruiting conferences, or who is going to win the Super Bowl. Also, we are going to try out Thursday night for the show for the first time. So instead of competing with folks' weekend plans, we will just try and compete with the start of NFL season!

What are the connections between Sports and HR and Talent Management? Is managing superstar employees at all like managing superstar athletes? What can coaching Little League baseball tell you about management? Are my beloved Jets going to get the Super Bowl? Shauna and I will talk about these topics and who knows what else with guests Tracy Tran, Todd Kmiec, Lance Haun and Kris Dunn.
