Nordic Waffles (Season 3 Episode 18)
10/02/2021 Duração: 28minThe Nordic Waffles concept was brought to America by the waffle queen, Stine Aasland. She launched in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2016. For the next two years, the freshly-made waffle concept expanded into coffee shops, convenience stores, and amusement parks. When the call came from Minnesota State Fair in 2018, they served over 42,000 Nordic Waffles in just 12 days.November of 2019, Nordic Waffles opened a retail location at Potluck Food Hall. Just as they were preparing for their next phase of growth, the global pandemic shuttered their doors. Nordic Waffles would soon regroup and enter grocers' freezer doors with their most popular item: The All-Day Breakfast. Simpls Minneapolis was born to be the 7-Eleven for the healthy, organic, and local sustainable foodie. Eventually, they expanded to three locations, including one in the downtown Minneapolis Target and one at the University of Minnesota.Then came COVID, and like every other food business, they had to, re-evaluate how and what they were going to do. because their business was asked to close by the Governor of Minnesota and the workers and students were all staying home. He was trying to recreate the wonderful European bread he and Marty had eaten on their travels. He wanted whole wheat and the first 6 months saw most of the bread go in the trash as hard, tasteless, and pretty much inedible.
