Reason #9 "The practices of Islam are relevant for today". Polygamy, prayer, and women clothing are the main practices. To answer that; polygamy only benefits the man, and creates a lot of problems, prayer is ritualistic and impersonal, and women 's identity is taken to pay for man's sin. In this episode Al Fadi and Dr Jay continue to discuss reasons #7 and 8 of why people convert to Islam. Reason #7 Is the testimony of other Muslims, that they are good people. This doesn't mean that their religion is true and that their prophet is a true prophet in fact he did not meet the criteria of what a true prophet from the Bible should be.  Reason #8 Is Islam's rationality; because the trinity, the incarnation, baptism and other doctrines of Christianity doesn't make sense to the Muslims they think that Islam is more rational, but there is a rational explanation to all these objections, and there is equally objections to some of the Muslim traditions as well. In this episode Al Fadi and Dr Jay discuss reasons #5 and #6. Reason #5 is The beauty of the Quran and its applicability. Converts admire the Quran and how beautiful it is to recite it ,and that it was never changed, but the experts disagree; the Quran has changed and there is more than 30 different versions of it, besides that it is incoherent .  Reason #6 is The simplicity of Islam's teachings. To answer that claim they say the simpler the religion the more man made it is, God is more that we can comprehend. In this episode Al Fadi and Dr Jay continue the discussion of slavery and how Christianity delt with it. They mention the abolition movement from 1673 with Richard Baxter in the USA, William Wilberforce 1789 who headed the abolition movement in the U K. To contrast that with Muslim countries who abolished slavery between 1952-1981, Qatar 1952, Saudi Arabia in 1961 just two examples and they did it because of pressure from western countries. Islam had never had an abolition movement.  Next they discuss reason #4 Islam's morality.  Converts to Islam from Afro American background  say that Afro American Christian churches have more problems with sexual immorality.  That is true but that is not what the Bible teaches especially when we read Matthew 5. In this episode Al Fadi and Dr jay discuss reason #3, The brotherhood of Islam(Al Umma). In the U.S. the emphasis  is on the oppressors are white people and the oppressed are black people; and that Christianity started slavery pointing to North Atlantic slavery in the 14-18 century.  Going back in the history of Arabs and Muslims being slave traders in the time of Muhammad and he never forbade it. In this episode Al Fadi and Dr Jay  discuss the doctrine of the trinity in the Bible and the Tawheed in the Quran. They say that neither term appear in the Bible or the Quran but understood to explain a theological term. Dr Jay mentions that Dr Paul Blakham went through the Bible identifying the trinity in each book.  Two examples are given Genesis1:1 in the beginning God(Elohim; a plural word for God) , yet  Deuteronomy 6:4 emphasizes that God is one. In this episode Al Fadi and Dr jay continue with explaining the first reason of why people convert to Islam and that is the social laws. They discuss statistics from the Kidron Atlas and how Muslim majority countries fall behind of major social issues like literacy, the quality of life, and mortality rate as some examples. Al Fadi and Dr Jay list twelve reasons of why people convert to Islam in the West, mainly the study was done on the Eastern cost of North America. The majority are from African American background that converted to Islam in prison. Reason # 1 They say is the social laws. Today Al Fadi and Dr Jay discuss the last four claims: #13 The Constitution of Al Madina; a document between three major groups supposedly created by Muhammad.  #14. The Doctrina La Cobi; a Greek Christian tract from Carthage, which refers to a prophet with a sword. #15. Is Muhammad in the Quran?  #16. Is Muhammad's name on the Dome of the Rock? In this episode Al Fadi and Dr Jay recap the first eleven claims; in conclusion : every reference to Mohammad in these claims place him in the wrong place and probably refer to other  Muhammads = " the praised ones ".  Then they discuss claim #12 The Ashtiname Letter, which was supposed to be written by Mohammad or Ali to the monks of St Catherine's Monastery, promising protection and other privileges. Al Fadi and Dr Jay discuss two more claims; Claim # 10 is John Nikiou, An Egyptian Coptic Bishop, who mentions Muhammad and Islam.  The problem of this claim is that the earliest manuscript of this quote is from the 1700 AD and not the 7th century.  Claim #11 John of Damascus, 730 AD, He mentions Muhammad as a false prophet, who taught  the heresy of the Ishmaelites, who had four revelation three of them are called Suras in today's Quran. In this episode Al Fadi and Dr jay debunk five more claims: #5 John of  Antioch in 639 AD,  # 6 Ishoyahb III in 647 AD , # 7 The Armenian Bishop Sebeos in 660 -670 AD, # 8 Monothelite Christian in 662 AD, #9 John Bar Penkaye, a Nestorian Christian in 690 Ad. in some of these claims it is only an argument between a trinitarian and anti trinitarian and in others there is no mention of the Quran, Muslim or Islam.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Al Fadi and Dr Jay refute the first four claims : 1. Thomas the Presbyter (634AD), who refers to a battle between the Romans and a "Tayaye d-Mhmt" which happened east of Gaza in 634 AD.  2. A flyleaf (634 AD), this refers to a battle of Yarmuk between the Syrians and the Arab of Mhmud. 3. The Sophronius and Jerusalem (637 AD). In the Standard Islamic Narrative, Muslims claim that  Muhammad lived in the seventh century in western Arabia (Mecca, Medina ) between 570-632 AD. Al Fadi and Brother Mel continue their talk  about the connection between Islam and the Zoroastrian religion of Persia.  Today they talk about the myth of the Buraq; which Muslims believe it  is a flying horse, which took Mohammad to Jerusalem to Al Aqsa mosque and then to heaven. The origin of the name is Persian which means : A riding animal, a rider or a horse.  In Zoroastrianism a demon god rides on a horse.  This shows the willingness of Islam to copy other religions.  They also touch on the origin of the names Aisha and Fatima. Al Fadi, Dr Jay, and Brother Mel are starting a new series called Exposing the Myth.  In this episode they are talking about how Islam borrowed from the Persian religion of Zoroastrianism.  1.The name of the ZamZam well is zoroastrian in origin.  The name Zam is a pagan god which refers to mother nature.  2. The Black stone in al Kaaba is connected to another demon called Afraditi(Venus/ Lucifer).  3. The Jamarat represent Satan.  4. The Sunna/ hadith was written in persian lands.  5. Dr Jay and Al Fadi continue with three more historical problems with the Quran: 1. The Al Aqsa mosque( Sura 17: 1), which Muslims believe that Mohammad ascended into heaven from, was built in 710 AD, and Mohammad died in 632 AD.  2. The chain mail that is mentioned in Sura 24: 10-11 that King David wore around 1000BC ,was not invented until 200 BC. 3. The reference to the crucifixion in Sura 7: 121-124 during the time of Moses and Pharaoh in 1400 BC and Joseph 1800BC (Sura 12 :41). The crucifixion was invented 1300 years later. Dr Jay and Al Fadi discuss the refutations to Dan Brubaker book: Corrections in Early Quranic Manuscripts.  one of the refutations is by  Hythem Sidky who writes a book responding to Dan's book.  Dr Jay and Al Fadi also talk about the historical problems of the Quran, they give an example from Sura 20 : 85-87,95-97,  where it talks about a Samaritan who lived in the time of Moses and helped the Israelites build the golden calf.  The problem with that story is the time period ; Moses lived in 1400 BC and the Samaritan did not exist until 722BC. In this episode Al Fadi and Dr Jay discuss sixteen example of changes made to a number of Quranic manuscripts to fit the 1924 Hafs edition of the Quran. Al Fadi and Dr Jay Smith continue their discussion about the interview that Muhammad Hijab had with Dr Yasi Qadi about the Quran preservation.  Al and Dr Jay mention that most Muslims especially in the East do not cross the line of questioning the Quran.  Dr Yasir Qadi had a crisis of faith "knowledge" when he went to Yale university. The interview caused a lot of Muslims to doubt and leave Islam.  They also talked about Dr Brubaker's work on the early Quranic manuscript in his book" Corrections in Early Quranic Manuscripts" . In his work Dr Brubaker researched and found over 800 - 4,000 differences between the Hafs Quran of today and the early manuscripts.  These corrections was made to fit the Hafs Quran of today.
