Demonology Series: Hollywood Satanic Films/Alien Covenant Film Review
10/06/2017 Duração: 28minIn this week’s show we discuss the new Alien film Alien Covenant with Joe Balog , our expert in Roman Catholic demonology. The new prequels Prometheus and Alien Covenant are under attack on Youtube as demonic and proof that the film industry is made up of Satanists who are sharing their occult beliefs through movies. We discuss the impact of film on religious folks, how one YouTube documentary makes it seem that the devil is taking over the film industry, and how this type of theology turns religion into a dungeons and dragons type of battle. In Alien Covenant and Prometheus, Ridley Scott expands the Alien mythology and address greater questions such as the Panspermia hypothesis (the idea that ancient aliens brought about human life); as well man’s relationship with nature, creation destroying it’s creator and biological warfare. We also discuss the design of the Alien creature or xenomorph which comes from HR Geiger artistic creations. These designs are heavily criticized by these YouTube Christian reviewers w

Is God Violent? An Exploration from Genesis to Revelation with John Dominic Crossan
10/06/2017 Duração: 58min“Our bible reveals to us the character of our God with minute and remorseless exactitude. The portrait is substantially that of a man — if one can imagine a man charged and overcharged with evil impulses far beyond the human limit; a personage whom no one would desire to associate with, now that Nero and Caligula are dead.In the Old Testament His acts expose His vindictive, unjust, ungenerous, pitiless, and thousand-fold severity; punishing innocent children for the misdeeds of their parents; punishing unoffending populations for the misdeeds of their rulers; even descending to wreak bloody vengeance upon harmless calves and lambs and sheep and bullocks, as punishment for inconsequential trespasses committed by their proprietors. It is perhaps the most damnatory biography that exists in print anywhere; it makes Nero an angel of light and leading, by contrast.”(Autobiography of Mark Twain, Volume II, page 128 Dictated June, 19, 1906).In Dr. Crossan most recent book, How to Read the Bible and Still Be a Christi

Homelessness in America
07/06/2017 Duração: 31minIn this week’s show our guest is Sharon Harris, a native of Dallas, TX. Ms. Harris had a first hand experience with homelessness and shares insights from that situation. She is currently an entrepreneur who runs two companies “My Hebrew Roots” and the affiliate project “Trendy Designs.” We discuss how many Americans are a paycheck away from loosing their home environment and how the “Bootstraps Mentality” spoused by many Americans adds to the problem of homelessness.According to an article on Houston Press there is a plan to make tent cities illegal in Houston. “Up for debate at City Council next week, the “anti-encampment ordinance” would criminalize the “unpermitted use of fabric, metal, cardboard, or other materials as a tent or other temporary structure for human habitation,” the use of any heating device, and the “accumulation of personal property that would not fit in a container three feet high, three feet wide, and three feet deep.” Put simply, it would criminalize being homeless on the streets withou

Eastern Orthodox Christianity: Mystical & Religious Trends
31/05/2017 Duração: 01h00sIn this week’s show our guest is Sam Granger. Our topic is the history, liturgy and modern trends of Eastern Orthodox Christianity. We discuss their leadership structure, apostolic succession, their different communities and mysticism. Our discussion focused on the liturgical aspect of Eastern Orthodoxy which incorporate” Ancient Synagogal” practices such as priestly rites, hymns and blessings. The structure of the liturgy involves “Old Testament” concepts such as morning and evening prayer, them calling churches temples, having a “Holy of Holies,” and a curtain that separates the congregants from the priests. They also have processions and perform sacrifices with the bread and wine. It is believed that these Greco-Semitic aspects of their rite are derived from the original founders, who according to tradition, were Peter and Paul.We also discussed mysticism including a fusion with God which can take place in a Christian’s life known as “Theosis.” This mystery of becoming God,” just as God became man” is somet

Phil was instrumental in locating property close to the land that has been home to the “Farm” community since their arrival. He founded a rock band that toured extensively in the US and Europe in the ’70s, as well as an audio recording studio that still exists today. Phil’s business partner, Douglas Stevenson, had built a video company beginning in the mid-1980’s, and their partnership formed in 1993 became a small multi-media organization called Village Media Services. We originally interviewed John Holly or Malachi from their community in Pulaski, TN at the Yellow Deli; as we visited their community coffee shop which serves as a form of outreach for them. That interview was enlightening experience; however due to technical difficulties the audio we recorded was damaged and we had to redo the interview this time with Cynthia. Our original encounter left us with more questions than answers. As the leaders of the 12 tribes community we met were very welcoming to Ryan and I, making it difficult to ask any challenging questions. The three elders we sat with included our contact John Holly or Malachi (his Hebrew name), who runs their printing shop; Ruth the wife of the farmer who runs the place where they get many of their products who joined at age 29 in 1984 a

IC Sojourners Episode 1: The Hipnik Generation
22/04/2017 Duração: 01h00sAfter a three month hiatus the Mystic-Skeptic Radio Show is back on Radio Free Nashville. We start this half season with the first episode of a series called “Sojourners” where we explore intentional living, personal growth and community creation. We see “Sojourners” as an opportunity to refocus our show to be more positive and have a greater impact on the world we live in. In the past three months it seems that we are all just surviving the current state of affairs and have lost touch with what makes us all human. The U.S. obsession with propaganda news and political drivel has created a stagnant atmosphere where creative people feel stuck and the rest of the population is being manipulated to and fro. Our first guest is a breath of fresh air as she shares her experiences and intellectual musings…In this week’s show we have a special guest, Isabel Turly a student at Vanderbilt University pursuing a B.A. in philosophy. The Flat Earth Conspiracy Theory
13/04/2017 Duração: 59minIn this week’s show we discuss The Flat Earth Conspiracy Theory with three different guests, Theo Wellington president of the Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society, Theologian Michael Heiser and skeptical scientific researcher Bryan Dunning. Most of our conversation is with Ms. Wellington who debunks the outrageous claims of the Flat Earth conspiracists. Dr. Michael Heiser author of the unseen realm discusses his struggle challenging Christians about this topic, while Brian Dunning of Skeptoid.com shares the history behind this movement. For those unfamiliar with this controversy, in the past couple of years religious and secular individuals who believe the earth is flat have resurfaced in the age of the Internet. We are not speaking about the discredited Flat Earth Society, but they were the ones who popularized fabrications of a “round Earth conspiracy” orchestrated by NASA and other government agencies. The Flat Earth belief came to the forefront in 2015 as media personalities used Twitter to proclaim the Ea
