Running the race of faith, we must finish well.

If we are walking by the Spirit, it means we: are conquering the flesh, understand the conflict, and captivated by freedom.

We have been set free by Christ and in response to that freedom we are to: live free, live in the truth of that freedom, and we are to love and serve in that freedom.

As believers, we have three homes: our earthly homes, our church home, and our heavenly home. For the believer all of these should be filled with the presence of God.

Paul offers one final comparison between the Old and New Covenants in an effort to show the Galatians the sin of their falling away,

Paul's greatest desire for the believers in Galatia is to see Christ formed in them.

Paul pleas with the Galatians to examine themselves and see why they are slipping back into the worldly and elementary things they have left in order to follow Christ.

Through salvation we are adopted as sons of God. That is the Gospel of Sonship laid out in Galatians 4:4.

Paul pleads with the Galatians to see the superiority of the covenant of promise over the covenant of the law.

Paul continues to write to the Galatians concerning the false doctrine of the Judaizers. We are blessed by faith and cursed by the law. Christ was cursed so that we might be blessed.

The experience of faith is a personal one but it is not a private one. Our faith is a shared experience that all believers have.

Paul continues his letter to the Galatians by reminding them their salvation is by faith alone.

With the events of this past week (July 3-9) there is a clearer than ever call for peacemakers. As believers we are to be peacemakers, because our Father is the God of Peace.

Paul again asserts his credentials to the Galatians by recounting how he opposed Peter because of the Gospel.

The Apostle Paul was astounded and dismayed as he wrote to the churches of Galatia. He offered them a warning and a declaration before declaring to them his ambition and his dedication. Contend for the gospel was his message.

Through Grace we are freed from the law and our own inability to keep it. As Paul begins his letter he shows himself, the man; how his writes, the manner; and what he needs to say, the message.

True, genuine, worship is worship in Spirit and Truth.

There is no more ungodly, distasteful, or unholy worship than the worship of self.

The baptism of Jesus Christ was a perfect, glorious, and awesome occasion but it was also a scandalous occasion. The Savior was baptized by a sinner.

The calling of Matthew or Levi as a disciple was a scandalous calling because of his vocation, his sin, and his lifestyle, but Jesus called him anyway. Sermon points credited to Dr. Danny Akin.
