Samantha and Kathy are joined by 10 of the Badassery Bash 2018 attendees to talk about their experiences over 5 days together. These 5 days took #IRL to a whole new level. As badass biz owners, we build relationships and friendships online. So many of these relationships have been built for well over a year, with these women never having met in real life. When you remove the computer screen and actually spend face-to-face time with these women, something magical happens: you feel as though you have known this badass all of your life. Between planned activities, meditations and workshops unbreakable bonds were created... with business epiphanies and 'aha moments' thrown into the mix. A few years ago, Suzie Agelopoulos decided that to change her life she would quit her job to become a travel blogger so that she was able to bring joy back into her life. Tiffany teaches a class, based on a personal project, where she made a public commitment to receive 100 rejection letters: all to be able to celebrate rejection. Women from across the globe attended and each of the women who attended had some seriously big epiphanies. One of the biggest 'aha' moments was the energy we input into our business. What is a 'Return on Energy'? When your energy output (which is the income you should be making), doesn't equate to the energy you're putting in, it's time to make a change to that energy exchange and drop anything from your business that you're no longer in love with. Remember, a pivot or shift is your business isn't a bad thing! Another huge moment came from the workshop held by Nicole Isler. Baird Hall is the co-founder of Wavve, a seriously cool platform that allows you to create graphics with a sound bite... over here at Badassery, we use Wavve and totally LOVE it! If you haven't heard of Wavve, what is it? An online platform that allows you to create audio sound bites for your social media which is seriously easy to use! All you need is a graphic and audio file, upload it to Wavve and then share on your social media. How did Wavve get started? With wives who were best friends, Baird and Nick started to build their friendship over coffee and shared ideas. They realized they had complimenting skills which could be utilized to build a business together! In 2016, Baird and Nick had over 300 hours of audio content, which they discovered couldn't be uploaded as audio clips to social media for their audience. The first iteration of the app wasn't quite what consumers wanted. Did Baird and Nick give up? No! Instead they listened to their audience and customers, and made changes from the feedback they

Is it OK to cry in business? The answer is YES! It should be OK! Samantha and Kathy dive into why crying should not be a taboo subject: it isn't a sign of weakness, as processing our emotions should never be something we should be afraid of - no matter the setting. Although the action of crying can be awkward for those around us, it is so much more acceptable that it was in the past. We're not hurting anybody if we cry. In fact, by holding our emotions in check all of the time, the only person you hurt is yourself, as that release is needed is transfer that energy out and open ourselves up to new energy. If you're somebody who worries about going live on Facebook or Instagram because you fear you might cry, stop holding that emotion in and show your community who you are and how you're feeling! Wearing your heart on your sleeve, whether it be in business or in life is not a bad thing!

Meagan and Liora started in completely different backgrounds, but both felt that they were crazy enough to jump in to fix a 'hair problem'. With backgrounds in business and photography, both Maegan and Liora pulled their skills together to create complimenting strengths. By working Maegan's kitchen 4 years ago, they became 'crazy scientists' to figure out what they could create. Nicole and Michelle are cousins with their own businesses; and the dynamic duo behind The Sparkle Hour podcast. On an individual basis:  Michelle is a writer, author, speaker and empowerment coach; who also has a side business with her fiancée. Nicole was originally a therapist who has now created a coaching business. Although family, they grew up on opposite sides of the country. Rayne Parvis is the personal stylist that supports you to feel amazing, no matter what your body shape, coloring or style is, whatever outfit you wear! Starting out as a stand up comedian, Rayne attended a seminar and live pivoted to personal stylist... that was 8 years ago. Rayne says that as long as we're comfortable, happy and feel great about ourselves it doesn't really matter (as long as we do get dressed)!

Having already survived cancer at the age of 21, Samantha was positively diagnosed with the BRCA1 gene in her mid-twenties. In 2008 Samantha Paige chose to go down the route of a preemptive double mastectomy. Following what society 'believed' was 'right', Samantha had reconstructive surgery with breast implants. In 2016, after several changes in her life; Samantha made the decision to have her breast implants removed. Why? Because she had found a version of herself where she was able to make high level, conscious decisions about herself and her body. This was the last cut Samantha needed to make. Samantha made the decision to document the first year after her surgery, in the form of a documentary. Collaborating with a photographer friend, Samantha wrote about her experience while her friend photographed her journey. After becoming a Mom, Rachel didn't want to go back to a 9-5 job, so decided to start her first business creating party printables, which allows her to stay at home with her son; while still being able to use her creative brain! Rachel found that she was unable to find styled stock images that screamed 'female' to her; or, there were only individual images for sale. With such a void in the market, Rachel decided that she needed to create a membership site that allowed female entrepreneurs to have access to a huge library of feminine styled images. Emily Ann Peterson is a Singer, Songwriter and best selling author. When this podcast was recorded, Emily was in her national book tour for her best selling book, Bare Naked Bravery! Five years ago Emily was a professional cellist when she was diagnosed with a condition that changed her life. The lack of stability and tremors in her hand meant that her life altered: as a cellist this meant that not only her entire career changed, but she also felt that she was grieving for her identity. Over a period of 6 weeks, Emily discovered that she had a lot of other creative skills she could dig into. This included songwriting, starting a podcast and talking to other people who showed bravery - enter Bare Naked Bravery! So what is bravery? Emily has found that there are 3 forms: internal, external and resonate bravery.
