-
#111 Parasite
25/11/2019 Duração: 01h39minWhen Craig first saw this movie, there was no plan to do an episode on it, but as the referrals spread, Cullen and Tara found the movie just as phenomenally infectious. We even roped in friend of the pod, Montyy from Comfortably Excluded to join us on this wild ride of a film from Bong Joon-ho!
-

#108 Hobbs And Shaw
12/08/2019 Duração: 51minThe boys are back in town! Can Hobbs and Shaw overcome their egos to work together and save the world? If you've seen any of the Fast Franchise you already know the answer, and if you haven't you can probably guess pretty easily. Predictable as the destination may be the journey is still one helluva ride!
-
#107 Fast Color
29/07/2019 Duração: 01h06minWe've never been more emphatic about the title of this podcast as we have for this movie! Truly a hidden gem that didn't get the chance to shine. Whether it was distribution, marketing, or some combination of the two, Fast Color only hit theaters in (maybe) 5 cities nationwide and didn't stay there long. It's a beautifully told intimate story about three generations of women working to bring together the broken pieces of a strained relationship, all while trying to remain safe and hidden in a collapsing world and chased by those who want to exploit the earth-shattering power they hold.

#106 MiB International
02/07/2019 Duração: 52minCan Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth save an uninspired, cash grabbing, Lexus ad with the power of pure charisma? They sure do try. Join us as we try to parse through this perfectly fine movie.
-
#105 Paris Is Burning
17/06/2019 Duração: 01h04minWhat would you do to find a place to belong? For the Queer BIPOC in the NYC Ballroom community, it meant creating an entire world and choosing your own family to go with it. From that place of struggle and triumph, an entire culture was born and Paris Is Burning was the documentary that captured a few frames of that deep and vibrant world.

#104 Booksmart
03/06/2019 Duração: 01h14minCraig, Cullen, and Tara are joined by Cullen's wife, Steph, to talk about puberty in pools, the awkwardness of high school, and female masturbation in Olivia Wilde's directorial debut.
-
#103 Avengers: Endgame (of Thrones)
22/05/2019 Duração: 01h20min2019 seems like a year of endings. We talk about the end of two decade-long franchises (spoiler alert: one ended a lot better than the other). Craig, Tara, and Cullen each discuss the very different things we'd like to see in the next phase of the MCU -- though we all agree we could use a bit of a break(something our bladders could've also used during the movie).
-
#102 Monty Python's Life Of Brian
08/05/2019 Duração: 01h02minCullen brings a comedy classic to the pod, but does it hold up? Listen to find out!
-
#101 Slow West

-
#100 The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
08/04/2019 Duração: 56minFor our 100th episode we go back 100 years to one of the foundational films of the Expressionist movement. Join us as we deep dive into this journey through the surreal and try to figure out just what is going on in this topsy-turvy classic.
-
#99 Us
25/03/2019 Duração: 01h19minWatch yourself! We breakdown Jordan Peele's latest film "Us" We start with a spoiler-free review before the first break, then we dig in once we return to talk about the rest of the movie and what it all means. Have we cracked the code? You'll have to listen to find out, but be careful--you never know what's lying just beneath the surface!
-
#98 Captain Marvel
11/03/2019 Duração: 55minHigher, Further, Faster, baby! We talk Captain Marvel--what we like, what we didn't like and the possibilities we see for the next phase of the MCU.
-
#97 BlacKkKlansman
25/02/2019 Duração: 58minIt's Oscar season and Black History month, so we'd be remiss if we didn't take a look at Spike Lee's most recent film (and his first nomination for Best Director). We discuss the racist past of America and how Spike uses this particular story to highlight how far and how little we've come since this true story took place. This episode was also recorded before the Oscars, so we speculate whether Lee will be able to snag the votes to win the category with a film about racism that doesn't have white people leaving the theater feeling warm, fuzzy and well-distanced from the pervasive system of white supremacy that exists to this day.
-
#96 Casablanca
11/02/2019 Duração: 46minLove, lust, and political intrigue are just a few of the things we discuss as we talk about the classic film Casablanca just in time for Valentine's Day. Join us as we explore this timeless gem (which one of our hosts is just seeing for the first time)!
-
#95 RBG
28/01/2019 Duração: 01h01minOyez oyez! All rise for the Honorable Ruth Bader Ginsburg! Notorious in reputation, mother of scorching dissents, breaker of glass ceilings first of her name and Queen Supreme! Craig, Cullen, and Tara sit down to talk about another documentary--RBG! We're also joined by Tara's husband Jim, a real-life lawyer person, to discuss the impact of Justice Ginsburg's life and work on the landscape of the law in the U.S. court systems.
-
#94 Marwencol
14/01/2019 Duração: 43minAfter reading the reviews for Welcome to Marwen Craig, Cullen, and Tara unanimously decide to do an episode on a movie that we actually want people to watch--the original documentary about Mark Hogancamp that inspired the biopic. We talk about Robert Zemeckis and his uncanny attraction to the Uncanny Valley (Tara breaks down the research pretty well, but it's definitely worth a Google), imagination and memory, and a bunch of other stuff that would be spoilers, so just check it out!
