Simone Biles capped a remarkable 2018 world gymnastics championships by claiming gold team, all-around, floor exercise, vault, silver on bars, and bronze on balance beam during event finals on Saturday, giving her six medals for the meet and 20 over all in world championships, tied with Svetlana Khorkina of Russia for the most by a female gymnast. Nebraska finished first as a team on floor last season at NCAA finals. Team captain Anton Stephenson won the vault title at Big Ten’s and U.S. Championships. This past summer Jake Bonnay competed at the Canadian Championships and earned a spot on the national team. At the 2018 NCAA Championships, Griffin Kehler captured a All-American honors on floor and is planning to debut new skills this upcoming season. Kyle King looks to continue his gymnastics career and plans to compete for a U.S. National Team spot at the 2019 Winter Cup Challenge.

Over the last few years there has been a lot of talk in the gymnastics world about the new rivalry with Sam Mikulak and Yul Moldauer. However, Mikulak has five U.S. all-around titles and Moldauer has one. The 2018 Pan American Championships kicks off today in Lima, Peru with the men’s gymnastics team preliminaries. Top eight teams qualify to team finals.
