Oklahoma will face-off against UCLA for the first time since finishing runner-up to them at last years NCAA Gymnastics Championships. Maggie Nichols, Kyla Ross, and Katelyn Ohashi are ready to put on a show. It is going to be a competition for the ages. Colin Van Wicklen competed in his season opener Saturday at the Houston National Invitational. Van Wicklen won titles on the floor, high bar, and took second in the all-around. Midknight Robin and Colin talk about expectations for Winter Cup, China Japan co-training camp, and gymnasts in contention for the College Gymnastics Association MVP award.

Members of the Chinese and Japanese men's gymnastics teams train together in Beijing for the first time. Taqiy Abdullah-Simmons talks about the significance of the China hosting Japan and what it means for the rest of the world. Preston has done it all. He has worked on live shows such as the Universal Studios Eighth Voyage of Sindbad Stunt Show as a fire diver, a stunt coordinator for Dr. Danger’s Daredevil All-Stars on America’s Got Talent, and was a stunt double on Fox’s The Passage in 2018.

Illinois Men’s gymnastics win fifth consecutive Windy City Invite. Clay Mason Stephens, Michael Paradise, and Alex Diab capture event titles for the Illini. Oklahoma cruises to a 21 point home win against Air Force and Arizona State. Genki Suzuki scored most week three points with 83. Stanford and Penn State remain undefeated after their week three wins. Taqiy Abdullah-Simmons, Kerry Adderly, and Midknight Robin give predictions for Week 4 matchups: Navy @ William & Mary, Nebraska @ Penn State, Iowa @ Illinois, Michigan @ Minnesota, Ohio State @ Oklahoma.

Week two of the 2019 college gymnastics season was in full swing this past weekend. Oklahoma, Stanford, and Penn State win big in their season debut. Sam Zakutney from Penn State posted the highest all-around score of the weekend with a 81.00 and two time national pommel horse champion Stephen Nedoroscik posted the highest event score of week two with a 15.3. Illinois wins dual meet against UIC by 54 points. UCLA’s Katelyn Ohashi scores a perfect 10.0 on floor.

Week one of the 2019 college gymnastics season is finally here. It all starts on Saturday January 5th in Seattle at the Washington Open with Arizona State University and NorCal United. Week two, the Rocky Mountain Open hosted by the Air Force on January 12th will feature four top ten teams which includes Oklahoma, Minnesota, Ohio State, and Nebraska. On December 31, 2018 a UIC Gymnastics petition was created on Change.org in an effort to save the gymnastics men’s and women’s from being cut at this season end. FIG Congress  votes for the official inclusion of parkour events.

Oyama capped off this years season with a gold medal performance at the Pan American Championships in Lima, Peru.
