Steve Edge is off having fun at the Edmonton Folk Festival, and you have Paul Norton (from Code Blue) at ze controls. Paul presents the usual melange of new releases, folk curios and concert previews, delivered in a hopefully entertaining and informative fashion. Without TOO many technical glitches.

Broadcast live from Jericho Park at the 40th annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival. We had a bit of a problem with the router at around 8:50 and were off the air until around 9:20 I think. A few guests swung by for a chat, but not nearly as many as I'd hoped. Big thanks to Pascale and the rest of the CiTR crew for making it happen - also to Richard who was hosting at the station.

Mostly new releases and a few festival preview artists. Loose theme was John Martyn's song. I don't want to know about evil, either.

Tributes to Vin Garbutt - English singer who passed away this week. Also to Gregg Allman and Jimmy LaFave, and some Pogues for a woman who requested them last week in memory of her recently departed hubbie. Features on Mr. Dave (Lindley) and new releases from Oumou Sangare and Bokante booke-ended the show, which ran into overtime.

New Oumou Sangare, Tom Russell, and Bokante CDs, and a trip to Sweden. Previews of the last to Rogue shows of the month and a few Vancouver Folk Music Festival artists, plus RIP to Greg Allman and Jimmy LaFave, and a Loudon Wainwright II nightmare! Ended up with a Beatles outtake from the new 50th anniversary Sgt. Pepper's box set.

We start the show with a bit of a look back at the music of the Buena Vista Social Club, in honour of the new movie about them. The balance of the show takes us on a journey of examples of musicians coming to various festivals in the area this summer. Lots of other interesting stuff too!
