In some ways the local church is the conscience of any community and when they preach the Gospel it shines a light on where we all fall short. Sometimes, this can cause quite a stir. That is what happened in Ephesus. The Bible says when Paul was there that the Word of God grew mightily and as a result it causes no small stir in this large influential city. We all absolutely love to see the look of joy and gratitude on a persons face when they open a gift we have given. And to the same degree, we are deflated when they respond with ingratitude or disinterest; or even worse with anger. What a horrible way to respond to a gift. Did you know there are people who have responded this way to God’s gift of his Son Jesus Christ? Today we look at Herod, another player on the Christmas account, and from him we learn some lessons about the wrong way to respond to Christ.

Our life revolves around news. We hear it and we share it and if we are fortunate we get to experience it for ourselves. But real Joy revolves around one very specific bit of news. Joy is a circle that will never be full until it is completed. Lets take a look at the Shepherds and see how we can bring our Joy full circle.

Exorcism is a word that is thrown around a lot thanks to Hollywood, Pentecostalism and the Catholic church. But what is anyway? Are we suppose to be casting out demons and if so how do we do it?
