  • MOBAs

    21/04/2017 Duração: 01h30min

In this episode, Paul, Jimmy, and Glen talk about Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Games (MOBAs). They have some really good conversations about the state of the genre overall as well as the influence MOBAs have had on E-Sports and gaming. Dota 2 and League of Legends are the two games most focused on in this episode. Glen laments e-sports being shown on ESPN.  Heroes of the Storm gets praised by Paul for being a simple MOBA that is easily accesible and fun in short bursts. The Kelsie's Korner wraps this episode up with a salty AF bow and they give a shoutout to Fans of the Genre who launched a new website linked below. Get back in your lane! • The Elder Scrolls - Morrowind to Skyrim

    14/04/2017 Duração: 01h27min

In this episode, Paul, Jimmy, and Glen talk about the Elder Scrolls series, but more specifically Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. Paul talks about the idyllic nature of Morrowind and the shortcomings of Oblivion and Skyrim in order to have the games be more 'marketable'. Glen waxes nostalgic about simpler times in college while glitching his way through Skyrim. They literally talk about The Pirates of the Carribean movie for at least 4 minutes. Glen gets confused between James Bond and Skyrim. They create an explicit mod. Jimmy attempts to get a brand deal. As always there's a new Kelsie's Korner for the poet in all of us. Listen in! 07/04/2017 Duração: 01h10min

In this episode, Paul, Jimmy, and Glen along with special guest Sarah talk about a series of games they all hold near and dear to their hearts: Animal Crossing. They cover the series beginnings with the Gamecube version in America all the way to the current 3DS games. Sarah still plays Animal Crossing which baffles the rest of the Meta'd crew and she totally schools them all with her knowledge of the series. Paul and his siblings gang up on a defenseless bear. Jimmy briefly talks about the obvious 'goals' of playing The Sims. Glen loses it a few times and we introduce a new segment of the show: Kelsie's Korner. Kelsie's Korner is a short segment with a themed haiku for each episode. Enjoy! In this episode, Paul, Jimmy, and Glen talk about the Mass Effect series. Strap in, from Mass Effect 1 to Mass Effect: Andromeda, the dudes talk about their love of the Mass Effect universe and its failings after the first game. They listen to Space Radio and talk at length about how immediately apparent it was that the series was on the decline after Mass Effect 1. Glen shares some stories about Mass Effect 3 and gives a scathing review of Andromeda. They also attempt their best British accents at the end of the episode at the behest of the We're Not Wizards podcast. Enjoy! • Board Games

    23/03/2017 Duração: 01h26min

In this episode, Paul, Jimmy, and Glen talk for the first time about a non-video-game topic! Board games are up for discussion this week and the boys talk in depth about the veritable "sweet spot" for games that are approachable but not stupidly easy. Paul and Glen get made fun of by jocks who would rather be playing Catan. Glen outs himself as a communist. They all riff on Munchkin for appealing to a different demographic but also being too gamey and praise some games that they played during their formitave years. Paul rants about Secret Hitler ruining a Christmas get-together. There are a ton of rants and rambles in this episode about board games but it just goes to show how much of an impact board gaming has had on the Meta'd Podcast crew. We also give a brief shout out to a Fellow Pod: We're Not Wizards which is a regularly scheduled podcast that is ALWAYS about board games and is very entertaining (Linked Below). We disrespect air hockey manufacturers and praise old arcade reward systems. • The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons & Ages

    29/07/2016 Duração: 37min

2022 Edit: Hey! Thanks for checking out this episode! Back in 2016 Paul and Jimmy had recently played through the Oracle games and were a bit salty about them. The main points in this episode go over how a remake should merge the games into one or a reboot should combine them but make a cohesive story that combines elements from both games. Ultimately it comes down to both games being good on their own but the experience of linking them together to get all the items and fight Ganon/Twinrova soured the experience for them by not adequately preparing them for boss fights with less than fair mechanics. Original post: In this episode of META'D, Paul and Jimmy battle trains and Twinrova to break down and analyze the two Gameboy Color games: Oracle of Ages & Oracle of Seasons.   Twitter: https://twitter.com/metadpodcast  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/metadpodcast/  Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs8LhMbixxYCrIvx1Dv5btw Intro/Outro Tunes: John Kim --- Support
