Suffer Like Jesus   Michael Lodge, Speaking Pastor   The unfortunate reality of living in a world broken by sin is that we absolutely will experience brokenness. Suffering and experiencing trials is guaranteed for all.  But there is good news. James directs us to be full of joy in the midst of our trials. This strange statement directs us to the new reality that we can only have in Jesus. The Gospel is the Good News that shows us that suffering isn't the end of the story. James Like Jesus   Michael Lodge, Speaking Pastor   Who is James and what is his letter about? Often times this letter is approached as the ultimate checklist and guide to Christian behavior. Today, we will see that this letters contents are actually framed in identity. James' identity was radically changed by the identity of Jesus. When James' identity changed, everything about his life's activity changed as well. Prophets spoke throughout the Old Testament to give God's word to Israel and to lead them in God's way. God told Moses that one day the Promised Prophet would come and be greater than he.
