Cross Of Grace

The resurrection is at the heart of the gospel. If Jesus didn’t resurrect from the dead, He’s just a man. But if He did resurrect, then He is God.

Words have power - use them wisely. That’s because words are powerful. Words can do great good or great harm. All through the Bible we are taught that a godly man will use his words wisely.

What if I don’t see any transformation in my life? How can I be sure I’m really saved? Is my faith genuine and real? That’s the question James wants to help us answer.

Our faith is a living faith that radically changes how we treat others. The mercy Christ has shown us compels us to treat others justly. We reflecting the character of our King when we love our neighbor, when we reject partiality, when we reject prejudice and unjust judgment based on the outward, and we show love and mercy.

Evidence of our salvation is seen by our humble acceptance of the gospel as the authority in our lives. His word transforms are character in our anger, our speech, and works.

When we know that God is faithful and wants the best for us, it effects how we respond when we face tough times. Trusting God’s character helps us embrace life’s trials.

James tells us that Christians are to endure trials for their spiritual maturity, and Christians are to call out for wisdom in their maturing. He has a purpose and he has the help we need and God wants to mature us right where we are.

Pastor Scott starts our James series with an introduction to the book. We explore James the man, James the book, and the message of James.

Jesus promised his disciples that his joy would be in them and that their joy would be full as they abide in Him.

God intends for His Word to be our source of joy. When read God’s Word, we are reminded how faithful God has been, and the gospel is revealed as the good news that brings gladness and delight.

Knowing God’s joy for me causes me to be joyful in Him.
