As we continue our Weird Not Weird sermon series, today we talk about the weird things that churches do.

Welcome to week 3 of Weird not Weird. The objective of this series is to put a spotlight on things we do and say as Christians that are weird to non-Christians. Things we do and say that might actually drive people away from considering Jesus instead of driving them to Him.

We are in the second week of our Weird series. We are talking about behaviors that believers fall into that make us weird to people who don't know Jesus. We have our own little language and mannerisms that are normal to us but really weird to non-Jesus people. Last week, we talked about the things we say that get in the way of our witnessing. But this week, we talk about how, more often than not, it is the things we do.

Today's sermon is the first in a series on the idea that we, as Christians, need to be different from the world around us. Jesus' teachings have incredible value, but would not be considered normal in today's culture. In order to obey Jesus, we need to be different - we need to be weird. But is it possible that we've become the wrong kind of weird?

We want our lives to count for something, toward something. As we continue our series on Genesis, we learn that God's purpose is for us to reflect Him and His glory.

As we continue in Genesis with the story of Noah, we find that even Noah was not immune to sin. But we also learn that no matter how far we fall, we cannot fall beyond the reach of God's grace.

In today's sermon, we continue the story of Noah, focusing on the covenant God made Noah and his descendants (us) to never again flood the earth.

We all want what is fair. This desire for what is fair comes from our heavenly Father. The great wonderful terrifying news is that God shows us exactly what fair looks like. In this weeks sermon, we look at the story of Noah.

When we intentionally do what we know is wrong, it hurts us, it hurts others and it hurts God. But nothing we can ever do will make God love us less. In our 7th installment of our Origins series on Genesis, we will explore the second sin - the first murder.

Last week, Pastor Kevin touched on the curse on humanity, focusing on how God's love and grace are displayed even through His discipline. This week, we will continue on the subject by exploring how Adam's poor choice impacted all people and all things for all time. His actions and our own weaknesses have caused us to be slaves to our appetite for sin, and prisoners of death.

Sin is disobedience. It is deceptive and it always brings consequences. In today's sermon, we are going to look at the result of Adam's sin. But more importantly, we will show how God, even though He cursed them, showed Adam and Eve grace despite their sin.

Although today's passage is short - only the first 8 verses in chapter 3 - it captures an event that is a turning point in history and in our relationship with God. It is the true story of the first couple choosing their own path and the consequences that came with it.

In our third sermon in our summer series on the book of Genesis, we look at God's creation of man, and how we are all hardwired for relationship, with Him and with each other.

We all have a default mirror we view ourselves in. Whether we think of ourselves more highly than we aught or more lowly than we really are, both of those are distorted images of who we are and who God created us to be. Our second sermon in our summer series from Genesis helps us get a realistic view of who we are, reminding us of our Original Image.

Today starts our summer series on the first eleven chapters of Genesis. Our first sermon begins where the Bible begins - with Creation. Pastors Pat and Ben, along with guest speaker Dennis Martin, start us out with a unique format.
