In this episode we take a look at the prophecy of Ezekiel 38 and the role of the leader of Russia in the latter days.

Over the past couple of days, it looks like the Biden administration has now publicly gone on the offensive against Israel, with more vigour than the previous months. The reason for this is likely something to do with Biden wanting to please his democrat base as the November elections loom ever closer.

The translation of the Bible into English transformed England and influenced her colonies around the world.  It was understood to be the secret of England’s greatness, and created a uniquely Bible culture in society.  As would be expected this common reading of the Old and New Testaments resulted in not only a Bible based society, but unsurprisingly a society that was sympathetic to the Jewish cause.

With Russia looking to overwhelm Ukraine, nations are wondering what is coming next. Governments around the world have increased spending, and there is a heated discussion beginning in many nations about reintroducing conscription. This is in keeping with Joel's prophecy to "wake up the might men" and "beat your plowshares into swords". 

Welcome to another Bible in the News. This week, Israel rejects Hamas ceasefire deal and aim at ‘total victory’. We review this in the light of Bible prophecy.

How is it possible that employees of the UN could have been involved in the October 7th terrorist attacks against the Jewish people? The answer is because of an organisation called UNRWA - The United nations relief and works agency - an organisation apparently existing to deliver aid to the Gazan Arabs and those who were made refugees during the 1948 war of independence.

As tensions boil over in the Middle East, the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have once again been pulled military into the region. Reluctant as some of them may be to support Israel, they have had no choice but to lend their support to the region to defend their shipping interests. As the biblical "ships of a Tarshish", they have been called upon to protect the region. The Houthi attacks have forced them back into a role they don't want to take on. The fate of Yemen is also clearly outlined in the Bible. 

This week we look at the destiny of the peoples of Lebanon in Bible prophecy in the light of rising tensions in the region.

Examining the Biblical Evidence around the True Identity of Jesus

In a Policy Analysis for the Washington institute, Matthew Levitt writes the following: “As details emerge of potential direct links to the attack on Israel, one thing is clear: Hamas would not have been able to plan and conduct such an operation without years of Iranian training, Iranian weapons, and hundreds of millions of dollars in Iranian funding”.While the exact nature of Iran’s involvement in the October 7th Terrorist Attacks is unknown, there was clearly some level of coordination. 

We are beginning to see the cooling of relations between Russia and Israel as we would expect from Bible Prophecy.

The Abraham Accords brought peace between Israel and some Arab states, but could they also help to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as well? Israel will not be living in the peace and safety spoken of in Ezekiel 38 until there is peace within its own territory. Many see the conflict as unsolvable - but the prophecy says that Israeli will live in peace at the time just prior to Christ appearing to Israel.

All over the world we are witnessing an outbreak of abominable antisemitism. Reports of these incidents have been heard to some extent on the media, but I have seen more reports on social media and even heard personal stories. Rather than taking a firm stand to stomp it out, little is being done to eradicate it. Even western governments, who in some cases may have made some bold statements, in practice have done little to stymie it. The media has fanned the flames of these often violent demonstrations, with inflammatory, distorted reports.

God has  been building a nation in the land of Israel out of families that have been gathered from all nations of the world. The current crisis is a direct challenge to the work of the Creator in restoring the nation of Israel to the land. The past month has seen horrific attacks on the nation of Israel. Israel has responded with resolve in the Gaza Strip. Many are wondering what the outcome will be. The Bible provides answers to what has been happening and what will shortly come to pass in the whole region, specifically the land of Israel. This week's Bible in the News is a special lecture John Billington gave on Thursday, November 2nd, to discuss these events in light of Bible prophecy. 

Hamas is an organization dedicated to the destruction of the Jews so that the land of Israel might be theirs alone, from the river to the sea.  The Palestinian Authority in the West Bank celebrates in Hamas' horrific pogrom against Jews and calls on its people to join in the bloodshed.  The "innocent civilians" have voted these bloodthirsty people into power, and call for the wrath of God to measure out their destruction.  He who touches Israel touches the apple of His eye.  God will soon bring peace to Israel, and when Russia comes with the nations, "to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, To take a spoil, and to take a prey..."  God will send his Son to save His people and judge those who have come against them.Here is a video version of this week's edition featuring additional content:

The war between Israel and the Hamas terrorists is capturing all of the headlines again this week.In this episode of Bible in the News, we dive deep into what some of the recent developments mean in the light of Bible prophecy.

In the 21st century on October 7th, 2023 our world witnessed a horrific pogrom where. Israeli men, women, children, and elderly were brutally murdered in the most grotesque manner.  The devastating count of those killed is reported to be over 1300, with thousands more injured.  Not since the Holocaust have so many Jews been massacred in one day.  And whereas the Nazis did much to hide their crimes some Hamas members streamed their rampage live for the world to see.  

The last week has been distressing, shocking and dramatic as Israel has been plunged into an terrible crisis and forced to go to war for its existence. This is David Billington. American financial support for Ukraine was stripped from the US budget this past week, but that is only the tip of the iceberg for Ukraine. The decline of its population and simply running out of soldiers is causing its ability to defend itself to collapse. Even the world's media must concede the battle is all but lost. The Bible has clearly stated Russia will be supreme in Europe at the time of the end. We are witnessing the angelic hand at work in bringing about God's purpose with the world in leading it to Armageddon, where it will be humbled.
