11/06/2015 Duração: 25minToday I'm really excited to welcome a guest who is dedicating his financial advice and his financial mission to help, particularly, families that are in the military and especially those that are approaching retirement. Because as he has found, and as a member of the military, Doug Nordman, my guest, he has found that many military families and individuals are unprepared when it comes to retirement. So he is dedicating his work to teaching them how to do it. And he is someone who actually managed to retire at 41, which I don't care whether you're in the military, or you have a business, or you're a teacher, that in and of itself is exceptional.

150: Zina Kumok, A Financial Story Gone Viral
10/06/2015 Duração: 28minToday’s guest is just 26 years old. She graduated from college in 2011 with a degree in journalism and a burning desire to become debt free as soon as possible. And even though her $28,000 loan was not particularly high by today’s standards (some students graduate with hundreds of thousands of debt), to pay it off on the starting salary of a journalist of only $28,000 a year (about half an average starting salary) would challenge anyone. But she was determined… and as a result, managed to do erase her debt in 3 years! Her story went viral… and she was featured in Time Magazine and other major news outlets, which inspired her to dedicate her spare time – when she’s not busy with her “day job” doing PR and marketing for a non-profit – to speak and write about her experience so other young adults can do the same. Her name is Zina Kumok.

142: Deacon Hayes on Wiping Out $50k in Debt in 18 Mos
02/06/2015 Duração: 34minToday's guest is Deacon Hayes, he is a great case in point. After being overwhelmed by $52,000 of debt, outside of their mortgage, he and his wife made a decision to quickly change the way they handled money. And they weren't kidding. 18 months later, it was gone. All of it. All $52,000 and because they were actually able to pay it off so quickly, they were featured on sites like US News and World Report. That led them to a live interview on Fox News. Deacon tells me that he enjoyed the process so much, he decided to turn it into a career. He quit his job as a financial planner, and actually founded the popular website Wellkeptwallet.com. And he also has a weekly podcast with that name. And there he helps people, that are in the same situation that they were in just a few years ago, become debt free.

01/06/2015 Duração: 34minHey, if your guilty pleasure on a Tuesday night is watching Real Housewives of New York City, well you're in luck with today's guest and I have a smile on my face cause I've been a fan of the Real Housewives franchise for a while. I dunno if "fan" is the right word, and I just, I'm kind of addicted to some of their series, like Beverly Hills, New York, New Jersey. Aside from being a favourite cast member on Bravo's popular reality series, Heather Thomson is a philanthropist, entrepreneur, and fashion designer best known for launching the shape wear fashion brand "Yummy by Heather Thompson". Now as a working mom of 2, Heather's fashion brand was grown after her personal battle to shed the baby weight and find confidence-boosting, comfortable undergarments. I can relate to that. In marketplace that was anything but that, Heather took to her sewing machine and created just what she was looking for. And over the last 6 years she has evolved her brand with plans to expand in the future.
