Hey family, do you remember the Fonz? He was the coolest guy on TV. And the cool was his identity. As for Urkel, he was the ultimate nerd, from his suspenders to his giant glasses. What they had in common is that each one had something defining and directing their lives and their choices. This week we're hoping to give everyone their own glasses--lenses by which to see the world. Part of being a follower of Christ is joining with others in worshiping, hearing the word of God, praying, confessing, and more. We share joyful times together, and sometimes we mourn together. As we see him, and grow in him, we become more and more like the person he created us to be. Hey family, we've all seen those movies where a person hits their head and forgets who they are, and the comedy that follows is a lot of fun because before the end of the movie their memory comes back and they figure out their real identity. This situation, however, is NOT fun when we've lived a life not knowing who we are. In this new series, "Identity Issues," we're going to address some of the lies that we believe and the truths that set us free. We're going to be studying through the Book of Colossians as we go through this super-important topic in our lives. We'll talk about relationships, how we see ourselves, self-talk, and interactions with ourselves, with God and with others. Hey family, in every relationship, learning how to love is one of the most difficult and rewarding aspects of that relationship.  As we've gone through this series, we've seen not only how God is love, but how he's loved us. This week we're going to learn about how God is loving THROUGH us, and how that will affect every one of our relationships: marriages, children, parents, friends, co-workers and everyone else in our lives--including our church. Hey family, we are continuing our series LOVE, LOVED, LOVING. The apostle John tells us: "This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." God is the source of love, and also the perfect example of what love is. It is unconditional. It is not dependent on our worthiness to receive it, for no one deserves God's love--and yet He loves everyone. Please join us Sunday and allow yourself to rest in the assurance of God's love. Hey family, sometimes when we're struggling with something, it seems like we're trying to escape from a very dark place. No matter which way we look, there are no answers to be found, and the direction we should go is completely obscured. It's at times like these that we need to remember the wisdom from scripture we're going to hear on Sunday. If you'd like to look ahead, read Psalm 103.
