  • Episode 13 - Tony Martin

    27/07/2016 Duração: 01h02min

Tony Martin joined the D-Gen - a truly revolutionary FM breakfast show -  in 1987,  and continued with them until 1992.  In 1995 he and Mick Molloy re-imagined the way we would listen to drive radio. They created Martin/Molloy, which became Australia’s first national drive show and dominated the FM landscape for three years. In 2006 he created one of the most talked about radio shows ever, Get This, with Ed Kavalee and Richard Marsland. The show’s fan base is as rabid today as it was a decade ago.  In 2017 he released an innovative new show, Childprrof, which is an unprodcued TV sitcom recorded live at the Melbourne Fringe Festival and released as a podcast. Tony’s success is a combination of incredible writing skills, along with the ability to perform his own words, a prodigious work ethic and an obsession with the infinite possibilities of audio. His career is a benchmark in our industry and an inspiration for anyone wan

  • Episode 12 - Richard Stubbs

    23/07/2016 Duração: 01h10min

Richard Stubbs literally changed the game for breakfast radio in the mid 80s as the first stand-up comedian to cross-over to breakfast radio. He started at 3XY on the Morning Zoo in 1985 before moving to MMM in the late 80s. In 1992 The Richard Stubbs Breakfast Show replaced the D-Generation, and went on to become one of the most successful shows of the time. Stubbsy then forged a new path for FM hosts by crossing over to the ABC in 2004. After 11 years of success in the afternoon slot, he made the decision to hang up the headphones at the end of 2015. Richard’s observational humour, natural intelligence and listening skills are some of the reasons why his career has been successful. 'Radio is hideously personal... My mantra's always been if someone's a moron, I'm going to be better. I'll be 10 per cent better to cover your moron-ness'.  Find out more about Richard here. • Episode 11 - Fifi Box

    15/07/2016 Duração: 52min

Fifi Box got her first break on the national stage as co-host of MMM's Shebang with Marty Sheargold and Byron Cooke. The show reached #1 around Australia in 2004. Her on-air chemistry with Marty is still recognised as one of the most potent combinations on FM. Fifi moved to the Today Network in 2008, hosting a national weekend breakfast show before taking on national drive with Jules Lund in 2011. The show became one of the first truly social, multi-platform shows on radio. Fifi now hosts Fifi, Fev and Byron on Fox in Melbourne.  'I just realised I’ve got to give this everything... You've got nothing to lose… I will give you everything I’ve got, because I know what it’s like to fold people’s clothing and do their ironing, and I didn’t love that.' • Episode 10 - Amanda Keller

    07/07/2016 Duração: 40min

Amanda Keller's contribution to radio and the community in Sydney has been so good over such a long period that she was awarded an Order of Australia in 2016. If it’s true that great storytelling is at the heart of radio’s connection to its audience, then it is easy to see why Amanda is recognised as an elite radio performer. She started her career at 2MMM in the late 90s on the Andrew Denton Breakfast Show, and their on-air partnership resulted in a #1 show. In more recent times, Amanda has reached #1 again with her great mate Brendan Jones on Jonesy & Amanda - a feat few broadcasters have achieved in the Sydney breakfast market.  'They want your loyalty, they want you to share your life, particularly breakfast radio, that's the gig... You share your life and people respond to you, and then you can be told to leave without even a chance to say goodbye to your audience.'  Game Changers: Radio is a show dedicated to the radio industry. Get

  • Episode 9 - Matt Tilley

    30/06/2016 Duração: 53min

After getting his start as a writer on the Grubby and Dee Dee breakfast show at Fox in the early 90s, Matt Tilley went on to have one of the longest and most successful stints with a metro FM radio station.  Alongside Tracy Bartram, he took Fox to #1 in the late 90s, and 13 years later he still dominated the Melbourne FM landscape with Jo Stanley. Matt is a brilliant all-rounder, but he will be best remembered for his 'Gotcha Calls', which became the must-listen-to segment on Melbourne radio (often attracting the highest listenership of any breakfast show at the height of this segment) and later through the 'Gotcha Call CDs', which raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity. Matt spent a year on MMM in 2014, and moved back into breakfast on the newly branded KIIS Melbourne in 2015.  'We always figured we could work harder than other shows... If it took calling people for 10 different segments just to get 30 seconds of radio, we'd do it.' Game Changers: Radio is a show de

  • Episode 8 - Hamish Blake

    24/06/2016 Duração: 01h06min

Hamish Blake is one half of arguably the most successful show on FM in Australian radio history, Hamish & Andy, and Hamish and his best mate Andy Lee are groundbreaking figures in event radio. Hamish and Andy started as a development show on Fox in 2001, and over the next four years refined their act on late nights and weekends before moving into the national drive slot on the Today network in 2006. Their ratings were astronomical. Highlights included 25 per cent of the Melbourne drive market and a national audience of more than 2 million, making it the most listened to Australian radio show. Ever. With ground breaking ideas - like the Caravan of Courage and the Tall Ships Adventure - Hamish and Andy established themselves as more than just a radio show: they are one of the most potent media brands in Australia.   'I've been incredibly fortunate to be side by side with someone that I think is so funny, but is also so driven... To use a cycling analogy, I can just slipstream h
