We’ve heard what the national campaigners have to say. Now we have to decide whether In or Out is best for Merseyside. Radio City Talk's Mick Coyle hosted a feisty yet intimate live EU debate with Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson as he went head to head with UKIP MEP Paul Nuttall. Joe Anderson was representing the “remain” campaign, while Paul Nuttall was representing the “leave” camp. It was a truly memorable evening with both sides putting forward passionate arguments supporting each case and how the referendum would affect Merseyside as a region. As you'll hear, the debate was explosive and rigorously fought out between both sides. #RadioCityEU

Mick Coyle was joined by Wirral South MP & close friend of Jo Cox, Alison McGovern, and she told us about her devastation and shock after the tragic news of Birstall MP Jo Cox's death. Walton MP Steve Rotheram also paid his own personal tribute to the late Labour MP.

Charlie Fearns is a 10 year old boy from Liverpool who has relapsed for a third time with leukaemia. There is no other option left in the UK for Charlie. He needs to go to America to a clinic in Seattle to have a CAR-T transplant which will cost £100,000, to give him a chance of survival. Charlie Fearns' bravery has inspired the Cycling Scouser and Barrow for Marrow to raise £60,000 for Anthony Nolan. David Fehily, also known as David the Toffee, joined Mick Coyle live from Goodison Park to talk about the new Everton FC manager Ronald Koeman after he was appointed by the Blues earlier today.

A family from Chester have raised an amazing £100,000 through a Go Fund Me page so their daughter can have a life saving treatment. An emotional Anthony, Dad of Erin, joined us on Liverpool Live to tell us how overwhelmed he felt by the generosity of everyone who has helped raise this life changing money for his 5 year old daughter.

We were joined by Nicky Weller, Paul Weller's sister, who told us about the exhibition that will be coming to Liverpool to celebrate The Jam. 'About The Young Idea' has been curated by Nicky and she gave us an idea of some the items we'd be able to see in the exhibition which is coming to the Cunard Buildings on July 1st.

Amy & Claire McGlone lost their dad Alan McGlone at the Hillsborough disaster in 1989 and they came in to tell us about the memorial service they are holding in his name now that they have the death certificate for their Dad. They also spoke about how Hillsborough merchandise is being sold on Amazon and told Mick Coyle of their disgust that someone wants to make money from the disaster.

Former drug addict Andrew Sullivan joined Mick Coyle on Liverpool Live to talk about his book 'A Year Without Substance' and tell us his fascinating story of how he beat his addiction and his road to recovery. He is nearly 2 years sober and Andy tells us of how he was left suicidal by his addiction and how that moment turned his life around and wants to help others in similar situations.

Local writer Kevin Sampson joined Mick Coyle on Liverpool Live to talk about the launch of his new book 'Hillsborough Voices' which tells the story of Hillsborough from many different people. Kevin tells Mick how he spoke to a wide range of people from ex-players, fans that were there, the families of the 96 to local MPs such as Andy Burnham and Steve Rotheram. Mick Coyle waas joined by Lynsey Barker who lost her dad Eric Hankin at Hillsborough and Robert Burke, senior case officer in Hillsborough inquests from Broudie Jackson Canter solicitors. Robert and Lynsey told us about the process of the legal inquests and the affect that it had on the families. Lynsey also told us many tales of her Dad and how she liked to remember him.

You will have probably seen on Facebook last week an appeal from Joe Smith, the 8 year old that was pictured on a man's shoulders in the Hillsborough documentary that was aired on BBC 2. Joe was taken aback by the images he saw and sent out an appeal to find the man who he believes saved his life at Hillsborough. Just 4 days later and with the power of the internet, Joe has found the man he has been searching for and has been able to thank him. He came back to tell us of his incredible story.

Assistant Mayor and Liverpool Labour councillor Nick Small speaks to Mick Coyle on Liverpool Live about the proposed Walton Hall Park stadium plans for Everton FC have been abandoned. Both the council and the club are said to be looking at other options and councillor Nick Small told us about why it happened and the possibility of a new location for the Blues.

It was revealed today that the 96 football fans who lost their lives at Hillsborough were going to be awarded the freedom of the city by Liverpool City Council, along with Bishop James Jones, Phil Scraton, Kenny Dalglish & Marina Dalglish who have been pivotal in the fight for justice. HFSG chairwoman Margaret Aspinall, who lost her son James at Hillsborough, told Mick Coyle about how proud she was of the 96 and how they have left a lasting legacy.

We caught up with Radio City Talk regular and lifelong blue David Feehily to get his reaction to the breaking news of the reported sacking of Everton manager Roberto Martinez.

Joe Smith from Kirkby spoke to Liverpool Live's reporter Adam Phillips to appeal for the man who saved his life at Hillsborough. Joe was watching the Hillsborough documentary that was aired on Sunday 8th May and spotted himself on CCTV images that he has never seen before with the man he claims saved his life. Joe was only 5 at the time and was spotted on a man's shoulders on the pitch. He desperately wants to find him to thank him for saving his life.
