Social media is a fascinating environment. One in particular asks us “What’s on your mind?”, and then proceeds to make value judgments when we dare to tell. Be that as it may, many of us in the church have stuff on our mind too, especially when church doesn’t seem to match up with the biblical parameters and suggestions/commands. Then after mulling that for a bit, we tend to resign ourselves to the fact that people have changed, the culture has changed too much to expect church not to have. But wait, God never changes. The culture will always change. Does that give us the right to change the church? To bring the culture inside to testify of the popular way? Why no, it doesn’t. So in observing something hopefully all believers do every Sunday morning, how can we not have questions and observations? Tim and Mary take on another news cycle, once again we see the shadows of the longest hatred: antisemitism. It is not going to improve but rather those with a demonic agenda will continue to take things to a very dark place, inviting judgment. As we saw with Covid, humans are deeply affected by suggestion, as long as it is accompanied by significant fear and threats. It is no different than antisemitism in a strange way – if people are told that the Jews are despicable and not to go near them, they will program their activities and lives to live that out. As another example, in some circles, a person can’t even name Trump without becoming deranged or acting violently and irrationally.  We are in that era of strong delusion and deception. We talk about Canada and their inability to reign that hatred in. We also talk about Islam which is never going to reign their hatred in. The world hates the light because their deeds are evil, how much brighter should we shine.

On today’s edition of Stand Up for the Truth, Mary revisits the history of the chemical industry, only this time with the track of genetic modification of our food. With last week’s news that Trump has ordered Bayer to make a lot more glyphosate in the name of “national defense”, we are seeing just how healthy the MAHA movement is going to prove to be. This is going to, already has, affected every single one of us. Taking away the potential to hold a few multi-national corporations accountable for the carcinogenic aspect of glyphosate – and the food supply – is truly bad news for all of us. Should we care that only a couple of corporations control our entire food supply? Absolutely. Mary welcomes back author and prophecy expert Britt Gillette to help us count the cost of the Mideast war. There is no getting around the fact that any war has economic shockwaves, but in the oil slick of the world there is always potential for extended aftershocks. As if we need more hotspots, we talk about the “wider war”, and what that means. First, we define the nature of the war, because once it gets going, we tend to forget how we got here. From there we take an off-ramp and talk about oil and the Persian Gulf, along with the Strait of Hormuz. What happens when energy costs skyrocket? Everything falls in domino style, trickling down to our grocery prices and how much truckers have to pay for their trucking to our doors. What is Kharg Island? What does the Revolutionary Guard have to do with that? Will Israel invade Lebanon? Will Israel sacrifice a lamb on the Temple Mount on Passover? We have to add all that into the mix because nothing is a given when it comes to the Middle East.  

Tim and Mary unpack some last days realities that sound more and more surreal. Take for instance the merry-go-round that is the Middle East, at least when it comes to Iran and current headlines. Now that Iran has played their turn and installed a familial leader (which the 1970s Ayatollah KHO-meini decried before his death), Trump is certainly having to deal with a chess move he hates. After all, why would he go through all this trouble only to have to go in circles and start again with another hardliner? It will be interesting to see Trump’s next move. Meanwhile, no one has seen or heard from the heir apparent yet, so is he dead, alive, or just MIA? Reminds one of Schrodinger’s poor old kitty, an analogy afforded us by none other than Jeff Childers of his Coffee and Covid blog. We look at an article about Tucker – yes, another one on his encroaching insanity – but this one asks the question, what does he want from the Jews, that he is so obsessed? A foundational look. We also look at Gaza and the Peace Board’s plan to renovate it. But not just with brick and mortar –  it will be the first controlled technocracy piece of real estate on earth. What does that mean? Then we talk about anger, what the Bible says about it and how to avoid just being part of the mob.

Mary welcomes back seasoned apologist Don Veinot of Midwest Christian Outreach to talk about “sycretism” and why the majority of evangelicals embrace it to some level or another. What is syncretism? Is it those dreadful “Co-Exist” bumper stickers, or something more sinister? Syncretism is the mixing of one faith/belief system with another, it is mixing two things that aren’t supposed to go together. Accepting parts of each, but denying the whole. But the gospel cannot be divided and conquered to make us more comfortable. However, syncretism is the natural, meaning carnal, response to the Gospel. Some reject the Gospel completely. Others want to accept only part of the Gospel, merging specific aspects of it to fit their own ideas. We give quite a few examples, some of which might surprise the listener. He is the faithful one, and no matter how tiresome this world becomes, the one thing God says we need is His mercy, not more dark news about man’s inhumanity to man.
