Make Dad Read Comics

Patrick and Dad revisit the wonderful world of Blacksad. At some point, things just turn into Jazz as father and son attempt to make sense of this anthropomorphic adventure of private detective John Blacksad in 1950s New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Voodoo, confidence men, seedy drug dens, and jazz clubs are presented as a hardboiled family crime thriller with a Disney sheen. Next Week: JSA Liberty Files

Dad and Patrick head deep back into DC comics with Grant Morrison and artist Howard Porter's inaugural run on JLA with the four-issue arc featuring very 1990s supervillains and some very cool Batman moments. Dad has questions about what age Wonder Woman is supposed to be in this series and why is Batman running around in the daylight? Patrick makes a good mincemeat pie filling but an awful crust.
