Gamers In Beta Podcast

What a news week we had last week, specifically with Phil Spencer (Head of Xbox) releasing various nuggets of information in regards to Windows 10 and the future of the Xbox One hardware. In complete Microsoft fashion, the news was somewhat vague and therefore we try our best to guess what the road map is PC gaming and the Xbox One hardware. It is our pleasure to welcome to Episode 141 of the Gamers In Beta podcast, Sean (aka QuickSilver3355). Sean has been a long time listener of the podcast, as well as a recent convert to ARK: Survival Evolved. With the game recently launching on Xbox One, it was the perfect time to bring Sean on the show, so he and Corey could bond over taming beavers and the like. It is with heavy hearts that we bring you Episode 137 this week. We send our love and condolences to Jay Sims and his family on the loss of their son Mason. The Littlest Warrior inspired us all. We take comfort that he is at peace now. This one is for you Mason. We have our first developer interview of the year this week. We're pleased to welcome Matt from Clapfoot Games to the show. Matt and the rest of Clapfoot are releasing their strategy shooter title, Fortified, this week for PC and Xbox One. Games discussed this week are The Division, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront, The Bug Butcher, Tower of Deadly Monsters, and more...  

Another week in January and more RnR legends have passed on. RIP to Glenn Frye (The Eagles) and Jimmy Bain (Dio)... Hitting our stride in mid-January, Jay (MAINEac17) and Corey (Catwo0d) return from their one week break to partake in Episode 136 of the GamersInBeta podcast. The fellas pick up a little of the music conversation from last week. We discuss some of the bands/genres that Jay and Corey indulge in from time to time. Gaming wise we cover the intricacies of the Xbox Elite Controller, Fallout 4, as well as tons of gaming related news items.

On Episode 135 of the Gamers In Beta podcast, we're mixing things up a little. In an effort to try and get Joe State on with us more regularly, we're recording on a different night, which meant our usual co-hosts, Jay (MAINEac17) and Corey (Catwo0d) couldn't be with us. Episode 132 of the Gamers In Beta podcast could very well be the last episode for us in 2015. It's been a great year with lots of guests and different co-hosts. We've had a lot of fun and thank all the listeners of the show for their support. Fittingly, this episode is just CapnMikeM and MAINEac17 holding down the fort, like they have for so many previous episodes. Well, what can you say Catwo0d is back this week with The Beta Test and it does not disappoint. Joined by El Presidente of Good4Gaming, Robop1g returns as the man can't quit trivia, it's an addiction really. Lots of gaming talk this week centered around Corey and Dave's thoughts on PlayStation Experience and Sony VR. Other topics discussed are Bethesda and Gearbox opening studios in Canada, Fallout 4, Destiny, Black Ops 3, Antman Pinball, Gears of War Backwards compatibility and more. How quickly a month flies by! Yes, it's the first weekend of the month and that means it's time for Joe State to be back on the air with us. We always look forward to hearing what Joe has been up to and this episode is no different. As usual, there is lots of talk around what comics he's been reading, shows he's be watching, and of course Mike and Joe have to bring it old school and talk a little punk and hardcore music. Gaming wise, the fellas discuss The Game Awards, PlayStation Experience '15, a little Fallout 4, Rainbow Six Siege, Tales from the Borderlands, and the upcoming releases for this week. Episode 129 of the Gamers In Beta podcast is jam packed full of content! Corey is back with us this week and we spend a good portion of the show talking about all things Fallout 4. If you remember last week, we talked about potential Black Friday deals as well as Kotaku's blacklisting woes. This week, we recap the Black Friday madness and Corey has his own blacklisting story to tell. Our trivia segment is now called The Beta Test and, of course, the questions this week revolve around Fallout 4. Lastly, we had the pleasure of speaking to Rebecca Ford from Digital Extremes. She is the community manager for Warframe as well as the voice of in-game character Lotus. What has been in the making for quite some time, finally came to fruition this past episode. Joe State (formerly of Platform Junkies) helped co-host the show this week. Mike and Joe open the show and talk about what punk and hardcore music they've been listening to, as well as a brief discussion on tattoos. From there, the topic shifts over to Joe's love of comics and what he has been reading of late. Our interview for this episode is with Charles Cecil of Revolution Games. Charles and his studio recently re-released Broken Sword 5 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If you like old-school point and click adventures, this is the game for you.
