Ryan Clark said Mike Tomlin is one of the greatest coaches of all-time. Is it that ridiculous of a statement? It’s fair to acknowledge that Tomlin fell into a great situation, but he also took advantage of it. Poni pointed out that Tomlin will soon rank among the Top 10 in NFL history. Probably not the best time to reach that accolade, but here we are. Clark also said the Steelers should not fire Tomlin, but they should find some way to move apart.

Aditi talked about the chemistry Aaron Rodgers had with Davante Adams in all of their success in Green Bay. Aditi, like Mike Florio, said something feels a little bit different with the Steelers and Mike Tomlin this year in terms of a breakup. Aditi doesn’t see Tomlin jumping from the NFL to the college level. Aditi thinks the Ravens automatically have the advantage on Sunday because of Lamar Jackson, who she said is still one of the league’s best players. Jeff Brohm is the latest college football coach to stay put instead of going to Happy Valley to become the HC at Penn State. Something else Ben Roethlisberger suggested was Mike Tomlin going to Penn State. After Tomlin was asked about coaching at the college level a few years ago, we can say pretty confidently that this won’t happen. Would Tomlin want to do everything that is required to be a college coach? The guys questioned if Tomlin would be as good at recruiting as everyone assumes. We talked about how the fans were right on this one and it felt like the Steelers trying to tell all of us that we were wrong. More BREAKING news: The Steelers claimed Adam Thielen off waivers. We continued to react to the breaking Steelers news in the last 30ish minutes – cutting Darius Slay and signing Adam Thielen. If we were the owner of the Steelers – if we were Art Rooney II, would we fire Mike Tomlin at the end of the season? Assuming the train is set for the same destination as the last near-decade, we all said Yes. Mike said today that he doesn’t care where good ideas come from, but then why are the assistant coaches so poor? The guys went through some of the assistants and coordinators over the years under Tomlin. How many of those names would we give a passing grade to? People are having a tough time remembering what Bill Cowher was able to accomplish with pretty lackluster QBs.
