"Finding A Bride For Isaac." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 24:11-28 as its main text. In this study, we marvel at how God, once again, directs the course of human events to work out the details of His master plan! We also have some fun considering the details behind the story of this encounter with Rebekah at the well. 

"Seeking A Bride For Isaac." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 24:1-10 as its main text. In this study, we see how Abraham the father commissions an unnamed servant to procure a suitable wife for Isaac, his son. We also see how this is a type or a picture of God the Father, who sends His Spirit to procure for His Son a suitable bride.

"Sarah's Burial." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 23:3-20 as its main text. In this study, we see that, though this may have been Abraham's darkest hour, yet God is causing one of His Promises to sprout. We are also reminded that, though we may be taken advantage of in this life, God supplies all we'll need to overcome the obstacles along the path to which He has called us to walk. 

"Nahor's Descendants and Sarah's Death." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 22:20-23:2 as its main text. In this study, we run across another list of names, but we take time to pull out some gems from this seeming pile of rubble. We see once again that the Bible speaks from history rather than as myth or legend. In addition, we see evidence of design (suggesting a Designer). And we also see evidence that God prepares a solution even before we're faced with our latest, seemingly impossible problem. 

"Abraham Finishes His Final Exam." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 22:15-19 as its main text. We've watched as Abraham has faced one test after another for the last eleven chapters. And a few weeks ago we even graded his performance on a handful of those key tests, and found that his report card was uninspiring! In today's study, we discover that those past tests helped to prepare him for this final exam. Join us today as we evaluate how Abraham did on his final exam. And as you listen, consider that perhaps God provides us tests to prepare us for something bigger yet to come!

"Abraham Begins His Final Exam." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 22:3-14 as its main text. In today's study, we watch as Abraham takes the most difficult test of his life. Everything he has been through thus far has prepared him for this moment. How will he do? But just as God tests Abraham, so He prunes us. How do we do? We should take courage from this test of Abraham, for just as He revealed Himself to Abraham during this most difficult test, so He is with us!

"The Parameters of Abraham's Final Exam." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 22:1b-2 as its main text. In today's study, we here the difficult words of God as he explains to Abraham the parameters of what will turn out to be an ultimate test. We also see many amazing patterns that serve to prophesy of another Father who was willing to sacrifice His Son in this same geographic location. God's fingerprints are all over this chapter! 

"Introduction to Abraham's Final Exam." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 22:1a as its main text. Do you remember being in school and taking tests? Do you remember getting grades for those tests? Those tests were seldom fun, but they were intended to prepare us for the Final Exam at the end of the class. Today we're introduced to what I call "Abraham's Final Exam."

"Abraham's Treaty with Abimelech." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 21:22-34 as its main text. In this study, we watch as Abimelech returns and appeals to Abraham to live his life in a manner that is consistent with someone who claims to be a follower of God. We're also challenged to set down roots in this life, yet remain mindful that we're still just passing through. 

"The Son of the Free Woman." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 21:8-21 as its main text. In today's study, we look at how God instructed Abraham to do something extremely difficult, and how he had to choose whether or not to trust God. The challenge is the same for us each day. And we also consider Paul's use of this passage and how he likens Isaac's status as the "son of promise" as a foreshadow of our relationship with God. 

"The Ultimate Son of Promise is Born." Last week's study was about the birth of Isaac, the "son of promise." This week's study is about the birth of the Ultimate SON of Promise, Jesus! It's a Christmas message that fit nicely into our study through the book of Genesis. 

"The Son of Promise is Born." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 21:1-7 as its main text. In this study, we see that God keeps His promises! And as we consider God's track record for keeping His promises, we realize that there is no reason to worry or fear! He has not forgotten! He continues to keep His promises!

"Abraham, Sarah and Abimelech." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 20:1-18 as its main text. In this study, we are marvel at how Abraham fell into the same trap as once before: the trap of fearing man more than fearing God. And this touches on only one of the seven key points from today's lesson!

"The Descendants of Lot." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 19:30-38 as its main text. In this study, we are introduced to the Moabites and the Ammonites, two more ancient people groups from the Bible that have been attested to by findings of archaeology. 

"God's Judgment Upon Sodom." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 19:15-30 as its main text. In this study, we find that sin does not go unpunished by God. But thankfully, He extends to us a gracious window of opportunity before sending judgment. We are in that window now, so now is the time to get serious about God!

"A Wild Night in Sodom." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 19:1-14 as its main text. In this study, we read with disgust and horror the story of Sodom's sin deserving of God's righteous judgment. But we also find that we aren't so different from them, meaning that we similarly deserve God's wrath! Yet even in this dark episode, we find God's grace shining through! 

"Abraham Bargains With The LORD." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 18:16-33 as its main text. In this study, Abraham intercedes with the LORD on behalf of Sodom. We find that the sins of the Sodomites is more than meets the eye. And we discover that the presence of a few righteous people can have a bearing on the destiny of many unrighteous people. 

"Is Anything Too Hard For The LORD?" That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 18:1-16 as its main text. In this study, Sarah laughs at the promise that she will bear a child in her old age. But the LORD challenges her perspective by asking, "Is anything too hard for the LORD?" And that same question challenges (and encourages!) us today!

"Circumcision as a Sign." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 17:9-27 as its main text. In this study, we continue to look at this important chapter on God's covenant with Abraham, this week focusing on the eternal sign of that eternal covenant: circumcision. We'll see that circumcision of the flesh is similar to baptism. And we'll also see that circumcision of the flesh is trumped by circumcision of the heart. 

"Abram is Renamed Abraham." That's the title of today's episode, which has Genesis 17:1-8 as its main text. In this study, God changes Abram's name to Abraham. In addition, God reiterates and expands on His promises to Abraham and to his offspring. And we find out that we are invited to be adopted into the family of Abraham, and the story goes from being remote to personal, even becoming the story of our ancestry in the faith!
