Landmark Church

There is a lot of pressure to become culturally relevant, to be sensitive to different life styles that are not necessarily agreeable with a Biblical Worldview. Today, we look at the church at Thyatira and the issue from a woman who claimed to be a prophetess. There are times when intolerance can be a virtue and necessary. It is important to realize how long suffering God is with us and why HE is this way. Lastly, we discover what happens when we fail to stop and evaluate our walk with the Lord.

The Incarnation is a very important doctrine. However, just as important are the prophetic writings indicating the Christ would bring light into a darken world. Today, we celebrate the coming of that great Light and it's importance to mankind.

One of the central teachings of the Christian Church from the very beginning has been the Incarnation of Christ. It is one aspect that separates Christianity from all other Religions. It also separates true Christian Churches from those who are false. Though these letters bring praise, correction and encouragement, they also speak to the common experiences of today's Christ followers. At the church in Pergamum the Lord mentions traps that Christ followers should be warned to stay away from. There is a promise at the conclusion of each letter by the Lord. In the 18th chapter of the gospel of John, we see the Religious Leaders demonstrate six symptoms of resisting Jesus. The resistance begins small and continues to escalate until there is absolute rejection of Jesus. It is so bad that the Religious Leaders do not recognize who it is that stands before them despite the teachings and miracles Jesus did.

As we continue in our study of the Gospel of John, we notice the resistance of the Religious Leaders who question Jesus' testimony. So, what were the signs and testimonies of those witnesses to the Lordship of Jesus. How can we use this information to Biblically witness to others? Also, how will the coming of the Light change our current life? All of this we will explore in today's message.

Today, we examine just how uncaring the Religious Leaders were and how little they cared for true justice. As we approach today's subject of ruthless control no matter the human cost, we see Jesus whose approach is beyond human understanding. What can we learn from the Lord's example? Who is ultimately in control and what is our role in moments of injustice?
