Having His values and desires in mind. It means to think God’s thoughts and not think as the world thinks. The mind that was in Christ is to be our mind as well. To grow in the knowledge of the Lord is to grow in our relationship as it pertains to our faith in Him, His mercy, His love, His grace, and our blessed hope. Let us draw near to God! True Biblical faith is not blind optimism or a manufactured “hope-so” feeling. It’s not blab-it-and-grab-it or name-it-and-claim-it. Faith is not some “feeling” that we manufacture. A growing and persevering faith is outlined for us. The Spirit is leading you from hearing to trusting to living. Join us as Pastor Chris digs into what it means to draw near to God and what it looks like to grow in faith!

We need to hear the voice of God – in our lives, in our churches, in our homes. The call for us to seek the face of God involves seeking His countenance, seeking His counsel, and seeking His fellowship. God is NEVER struggling with how to speak to you. On the other hand, many struggles to hear or discern the voice of God when He speaks. If you need God to speak to you, He will. When you ask Him for guidance and direction, He will speak it into you. Join us as Pastor Chris shares how the Word teaches us to Hear the Voice of God.

Waiting patiently is not a strong suit in American society. We are not a patient people. We tend to be in a horn-honking, microwaving, Amazon-priming, fast-food eating, express-lane shopping hurry. Waiting may be the hardest single thing we do are called to do. So it is frustrating when we turn to the Bible and find that God Himself, who is all-powerful and all-wise, keeps saying to His people, Wait. Waiting is the place (season) of becoming what God wants us to be so we can receive what He has in store. God has called/gifted you from the womb. Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified [consecrated; separated with a calling] you; I ordained [to appoint; to set in place] you a prophet to the nations". There are nine Ministry Team Gifts: These gifts are individualistic and you can have more than one. There is not hierarchy in the giftings – they all work together and need one another – fitly joined together. Join us as Pastor Chris continues our series, Unwrapping the Spiritual Gifts, sharing about the gifts of the Shepherd / Pastor, Exhorter, Serving.

The power given to us is the supernatural manifestation of the Holy Spirit. We should not be ignorant (unlearned; unteachable) of these things. The gifts of the Spirit matter in our lives for your Daily Personal Ministry and your Gathered Ministry. God has not set up the church to fail in the mission of the Kingdom. If the church isn’t effective, growing, or succeeding, then it is because we are not operating in the Holy Spirit. Rabbis were expected to help settle legal matters among the Jews, but Jesus refused to get involved initially because the appeal was outside the sphere of His true mission. He didn’t come to make people rich. Luke 12:13-21 shares the account of Jesus' warning to everyone, not just the disciples, against covetousness. Covetousness stems from a poverty mindset and is an unquenchable thirst for getting more and more of something we think we need in order to be truly satisfied (serving mammon). Jesus made it clear that true life does not depend on an abundance of possessions. God wants you to succeed. He intends for you to prosper. God’s people must break out of a ‘poverty’ mindset that leaves them believing and living for the benefit of self, and believing they never have enough. Jesus had a great deal to say about the Holy Spirit in His Upper Room message, for apart from the help from the Spirit of God, we cannot live the Christian life as God would have us live it. We must know who the Holy Spirit is, what He does, and how He does it. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher today. He teaches us the truths we need to know, when we need them, and when we are ready to receive them. "Now" speaks to a transition and a transformation that has occurred in the life of the believer. He didn’t receive forgiveness only to continue living as he lived in sin and bondage. Now recognizes ‘I used to be', ' what I used to do', and 'what I used to say'. There is a change of direction (conversion) and, therefore, a change of behavior. God wants you to know Him as the Lord Who Sanctifies because He wants you to live a Sanctified life. Join us as Pastor Chris continues our series, "Living the Life".
