UTBB Episode 73: C.S. Screwus, WWAD Divorce Special, and Biblical Wife Whoring For Profit
29/09/2016 Duração: 41minWe screeched out another episode this week despite life's best efforts to keep us off the air waves. A new voice makes an introduction by the name of C.S. Screwus; a young millennial that is finding his feet in the adult world, and somehow got suckered on to our worldly show. Sharon hosts a special family episode of WWAD (What Would an Atheist Do?). Kate closes out the show with a closer look at a very popular story in the Bible during ancient times. So popular it is repeated not once, not twice, but three goddamn times in the good book!

21/09/2016 Duração: 48minSorry for the long delay, but we are back! Joe interviews Author Dan Arel about his new book,The Secular Activist: A How-to Manual for Protecting the Wall between the Separation of Church and State. Kate enlightens us with another fucked up Bible story and Joe opines about secular activism. Enjoy!

UTBB Episode 71: Kentucky's Dangerous Legal Precedent, WWAD Speed Round Quiz, and NASA Comes Out of the Closet
24/08/2016 Duração: 01h03minKentucky keeps making all the wrong headlines this week when federal court judge David Bunning dismisses all three lawsuits pending against Rowan County Jaysus groupie Kim Davis. Apparently, it is now legal to force your employer to craft legislation in order to accommodate your belief in gods. This undercuts the protections offered to employers under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and opens up a new avenue for segragtion to become legally supported. With that depressing bit of Kentucky stupidity out of the way, we have a fun round of WWAD. Six ethical scenarios where the options become more and more unpalatable, and there isn't a right answer. The crew invites you to play along and see just how far apart your ethics are from everyone else in the world. We wrap up with the exciting announcement that NASA is cleaning out their closets and letting the publuc have access to thousands of files from publicly funded projects! This has Kate and Sharon geeking out so much, that these two wome

UTBB Podcast Episode 69: Unhinged about Contused Cocks, Special Guest Dion McNeil
10/08/2016 Duração: 57minIts Episode 69, and while the number is magical, we still have important perspectives on the racism issues within the United States. Special guest Dion McNeil, aka Phalanx Unhinged on YouTube stops in to give us a decidedly opposite view of our previous New Black Panther Party guest from last month. Is it really just classism being conflated as racism? Do SJWs never seem to reach their end game? So many questions, and we don't have enough time, so this will be a two episode interview folks. And to help lighten the mood (at least for two of us), we find inspiration in all the wrong people and things sometimes. In this case, Dennis Rodman's contused cock, and we ladies just need a guys perspective on this, so we put Adam Phuzen on the spot. (His face was beet red by the end of the segment!) To hear more thorough views, and review Dion's endless citations of sources, check out his YouTube channel Phalanx Unhinged here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeL5qXVuLBDU7g2ZmYmEBxQ **We are aware of audio quality this

UTBB Episode 68: The Panthers among Us, WWAD (What Would Adam Do?)
27/07/2016 Duração: 01h21minThis week we wrap up our interview with Avery Corniell as she covers where we left off: the problem with the use of Christianity within the black community. SHhe continues explaining the goals of the Mew Black Pamther Party and how she plans to be active in her community issues. We also play WWAD. What Would Adam do is an exciting new segment where we ask not just what would our cohost Adam do, but ask what on earth he did to begin with. Then we digest some of the take away from our discussion with Avery and her support of the Black Panther Party, a group that many consider an extreme activist group that is controversial, and many institutions consider as hate.

UTBB EP 67: Interview With A Member Of The Black Panthers, #ThoughtsandPrayers
20/07/2016 Duração: 54minEpisode 67 bears a lot of weight this week. With the passing of Samantha Lee Bannister, daughter of Jeremiah and Angela Bannister of Paleo Radio, we take a moment to reflect on Sami's journey. We also discuss the impact of #thoughtsandprayers. Is there a time it is useful? Should it be silenced and avoided at all costs? What other purpose does #thoughtsandprayers serve besides easing the mind of the one performing it? Then we have an insightful interview with a member of the re awakening Black Panther Movement. Avery Corniell joins us to share a militant look at the issues at hand with police violence against blacks, the systemic failure of the justice system, and what needs to be done. For more information about #TeamTinyDancer, please go to Sami's Go Fund Me page here. http://www.gofundme.com/teamtinydancer Like the ending speech by Charlie Chaplan? Check it out here in video.

UTBB EP 66: All Lives Don't Matter, Until They All Actually Do
13/07/2016 Duração: 01h16minIt's a touchy week of news that started off with an ark display that refused to be touched by reality, or fair hiring practices, in Kentucky. All is fun and games at the planned Tri-State Freethinker Genocide & Incest Park Protest on 7/7. Dan Arel joins Joe for a review of the protest and the shenanigans that transpired thanks to the beleaguered efforts of Hovind to bring God, and free #chickengate sandwiches, to the godless. But as the world often does, a darker more serious shadow of humanity clouded the news as more men were shot by police in circumstances that again made our cast members question not just the methods of law enforcement, but our own understanding of racism and bias. Black Lives versus All Lives. And why is it always a versus and not together? Everyone is bursting with realization, but is there enough time in the day to get it all off their chests? Check out Dan Arel's blog here: Danthropology

UTBB Episode 65: The Historicity Of Jaysus: Documentary Series Director Matt Kovacs Stops By
06/07/2016 Duração: 01h18sIt was a hard weekend, but we made it through without blowing off any fingers or toes this past 4th of July. And with the start of a new week, we brought in a special guest Matt Kovacs, the director of the NPRproduced documentary series Who They Say That I Am, an episodic series trying to figure out who the Christ figure was to those who followed him. Adam Collins of Adamant Atheism, and Tucker Drake of Atheist in the Trailer Park, crash the interview, making for a lively discussion on the fact and fiction of Jesus. Joe and Sharon take on the topic of abortion burials, and whether men should bury the socks they occasionally use to masturbate in out of respect for the potential that was wasted in a mix of cotton and polyester blends. Check out the trailer for Who They Say That I Am here: https://youtu.be/-eTk2a0MIf4

UTBB Episode 64: Creationism- It Isn't Controversial. It's Bullshit.
29/06/2016 Duração: 01h18sYour favorite show is back with special guest host this week, Jim Helton, co founder of Tri-State Freethinkers out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Jim will be visiting us this week and sharing the details about the global headline making protest his organization will be holding on July 7th to counter Ken Ham's Ark Encounter grand opening in Petersburg, Kentucky. He also will discuss with us the issue with treating creationism as a legimate option in science classrooms, and in museums. Along with some of the politics that protect Ken Ham's Ark Park from sinking under the pressure of legitimate business practices. We also explore the benefits of organizations like Freedom From Religion Foundation and American Atheists being available to the public for help in navigating infringement of church and state separations. It's a lively discussion with lots of information and details most don't read in the newspapers. You'll also find out why wearing a cow suit whilst dancing in a parade during 90 degree weather is n

UTBB Episode 63: Humanity Needs To Check Its Pulse
22/06/2016 Duração: 01h07minEpisode 63 of Unbuckling the Bible Belt Podcast reflects on the Pulse shooting in Orlando, Florida last week, and what effect it has had on local communities, public opinion on LGBTQ rights, and so much more. We also reflect on the issues of gravity and hand brakes when discussing some recent science news, and cannot help but wonder how anyone is okay with the infighting among evangelical and moderate Christians in the political campaign season. In particular, we examine the GOP's plan to change convention rules to allow delegates who are stuck with Trump the option to instead be able to vote with conscience for a different candidate than who is pledged.

UTBB Podcast Episode 62: Pour A Stiff One
15/06/2016 Duração: 01h06minThe Unbuckling the Bible Belt the crew has found their new week has begun on a hellish note with the slayings in Orlando, lobbyists fighting against sex abuse victims getting extended time to come forward, and judges setting dangerous precedents when it comes to white male privilege. But they didn't want to keep it all depressing and mournful, and they actually found a little amusement in Jesus Christ's second coming....to the silver screen. **Orlando will not be discussed in this week's episodes as more and more details are still being released to the public.**

UTBB Episode 60: Atheists Can Be Assholes Too
01/06/2016 Duração: 01h01minAfter a tumultuous month of back biting, personal attacks, and a general Trumpesque attitude among the secular, atheist, and humanist communities lately, the cast of UTBB realized something: Atheists can be assholes too. Joe, Adam, and Kate dig into why this might be more noticeable than usual, as well as ways to avoid falling into the pitfalls of one's own personal biases. The crew cannot help but point out how much humanity struggles with cognitive dissonance as a whole, and that the secular communities are no exception. Tying into the crazy notion that maybe we all can actually get a long and learn to be accepting, comedian JP Sears discusses with Sharon how important it is to focus on acceptance. Unbuckling The Bible Belt EP 57: Diddling Diddles For President
11/05/2016 Duração: 54minThe Republican Party suffered a stroke this weak and has seemed to have lost use of part of their party this week. Kasich and Cruz, both first ordained by God to run for POTUS, have now aborted their campaigns, finding it impossible to continue to term. Trump's apparent win of the primary has many wondering what it means to even be a Republican anymore, and draws into sharp focus a much needed upset still to come within the Democratic primaries. Before we slog into speculation and political day dreaming, we check out the hefty $10 MILLION DOLLAR child diddling rebate Cornerstone Church is going to possibly owe one of its former parishioners who had been raped by one of their appointed youth mentors. We also highlight some of the exciting upcoming guests and events we have on schedule this month of May!

UTBB EP 56: Mommy Dearest
04/05/2016 Duração: 01h06minMother's Day is coming up, and our crew discusses some of the more questionable mommy moments not just in their lives-- but across history, media, and the our known world. Before discussing the who's who of mommyhood, the recent rumors of the EMDrive being submitted for peer review gets the crew started. Could it mean mankind could leave this planet of irrational thought once and for all? Or will they be stuck with insane moms and insane bills like Tennessee's new therapist religious freedom act? Or will the bad weather make their show impossible to record? Find out this week on Unbuckling the Bible Belt! (Yes, we had some bad storms this week which affected some audio quality. Much love and apologies!)
