We screeched out another episode this week despite life's best efforts to keep us off the air waves. A new voice makes an introduction by the name of C.S. Screwus; a young millennial that is finding his feet in the adult world, and somehow got suckered on to our worldly show. Sharon hosts a special family episode of WWAD (What Would an Atheist Do?). Kate closes out the show with a closer look at a very popular story in the Bible during ancient times. So popular it is repeated not once, not twice, but three goddamn times in the good book!

Sorry for the long delay, but we are back! Joe interviews Author Dan Arel about his new book,The Secular Activist: A How-to Manual for Protecting the Wall between the Separation of Church and State. The interview was about 49 minutes long initially, but technical issues reared their ugly heads and cut it down immensely. It's a damned shame. Kate enlightens us with another fucked up Bible story and Joe opines about secular activism. Enjoy!

Kentucky keeps making all the wrong headlines this week when federal court judge David Bunning dismisses all three lawsuits pending against Rowan County Jaysus groupie Kim Davis. Apparently, it is now legal to force your employer to craft legislation in order to accommodate your belief in gods. This undercuts the protections offered to employers under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and opens up a new avenue for segragtion to become legally supported.   With that depressing bit of Kentucky stupidity out of the way,  we have a fun round of WWAD. UTBB episode 70 wraps up our interview with Dion McNeil aka Phalanx Unhinged. He explains the problems SJWs actuallty perpetuate, what racism is, and that one time he was accused of having white privilege as a black man. After the interview, Kate discusses a bible story many do not read to the bitter end with her take on the infamous tale of the Levite and his concubine.

This week we wrap up our interview with Avery Corniell as she covers where we left off: the problem with the use of Christianity within the black community. SHhe continues explaining the goals of the Mew Black Pamther Party and how she plans to be active in her community issues.   We also play WWAD. What Would Adam do is an exciting new segment where we ask not just what would our cohost Adam do, but ask what on earth  he did to begin with.   Then we digest some of the take away from our discussion with Avery and her support of the Black Panther Party, a group that many consider an extreme activist group that is controversial, and many institutions consider as hate.

It's a touchy week of news that started off with an ark display that refused to be touched by reality, or fair hiring practices, in Kentucky. All is fun and games at the planned Tri-State Freethinker Genocide & Incest Park Protest on 7/7. Dan Arel joins Joe for a review of the protest and the shenanigans that transpired thanks to the beleaguered efforts of Hovind to bring God, and free #chickengate sandwiches, to the godless.   But as the world often does, a darker more serious shadow of humanity clouded the news as more men were shot by police in circumstances that again made our cast members question not just the methods of law enforcement, but our own understanding of racism and bias. Black Lives versus All Lives. And why is it always a versus and not together? It was a hard weekend, but we made it through without blowing off any fingers or toes this past 4th of July. And with the start of a new week, we brought in a special guest Matt Kovacs, the director of the NPRproduced documentary series Who They Say That I Am, an episodic series trying to figure out who the Christ figure was to those who followed him. Adam Collins of Adamant Atheism, and Tucker Drake of Atheist in the Trailer Park, crash the interview, making for a lively discussion on the fact and fiction of Jesus. Episode 63 of Unbuckling the Bible Belt Podcast reflects on the Pulse shooting in Orlando, Florida last week, and what effect it has had on local communities, public opinion on LGBTQ rights, and so much more. We also reflect on the issues of gravity and hand brakes when discussing some recent science news, and cannot help but wonder how anyone is okay with the infighting among evangelical and moderate Christians in the political campaign season. In particular, we examine the GOP's plan to change convention rules to allow delegates who are stuck with Trump the option to instead be able to vote with conscience for a different candidate than who is pledged. 

The Unbuckling the Bible Belt the crew has found their new week has begun on a hellish note with the slayings in Orlando, lobbyists fighting against sex abuse victims getting extended time to come forward, and judges setting dangerous precedents when it comes to white male privilege. Kasich and Cruz, both first ordained by God to run for POTUS, have now aborted their campaigns, finding it impossible to continue to term. Trump's apparent win of the primary has many wondering what it means to even be a Republican anymore, and draws into sharp focus a much needed upset still to come within the Democratic primaries.
