The strife of words has always been the flash point for Christianity and the early fathers, whether it be Moses, Joshua, David, Solomon, the Prophets, Christ, the Apostles and the Church Fathers, as well as the most well known: Martin Luther. "Here I stand, I can do no other, so Help me God!" But every Christian is called to be a witness, use their mouths to testify of Jesus Christ. It is this point that has turned history from a boring lecture, to an elivened Christianity in the face of all evil. As Paul so well put it "Over come evil with good." But to over come evil, the contest of words must needs come. Whether it is David versus Goliath, Paul versus Caesar, or David Livingstone vs 1000 smoking fires that never heard the gospel of Christ.

The Historical markers are critical for interpreting the book of the Revelation. Our early Church fathers all followed the timelines and had the Historical markers as indicators of where they were at in History. Many a time a wiped brow would occur as they would say "glad that is over" as they saw the pagan attacks cease on que to the book of Revelations Historical markers. Dive in this series and be awakened the great sleep that has been blanketing Christianity as Satan tries to stop the Church from awakening and seeing its true calling - to be a light to the nations.

Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness against thy neighbor - Lies are at the heart of oppression. Distortion of truth bends the minds of the masses to the will of the dictator at the highest form of lying, where as lying in the basic form destroys our neighbor and kills him on the installment plan. Understanding our wicked hearts puts in to perspective the Psalmists pleading with the Lord as he says " Remove from me the way of Lying and grant me thy law graciously (Psalm 119: 29). The way of lying is a lifestyle, a way of thought. The Church is to call out lying and hold to account. Learn in this series the seriousness of lying and the calling of Christians and the Church to stand in the gap for the land and not allow lies to advance into culture, but be stopped in their tracks.

The men of Constantine's Army had a conflict of Love. They had seen many of their brethren dragged away and tortured, thrown to the arena, people mauled - all because of a decree by a wicked emperor. It had to stop. Violence in culture is an abnormal state and the civil magistrate is called to calm society, not rip it up. The conflict of love was, "when do we stop turning the other cheek, especially when my wife is being hauled off?!" This great question is addressed in this sermon entitled "Conflicts of Love." It lays to rest the issue of turning the other cheek and puts into perspective the righteous mans response to evil.
