Sinopse

Random Transmissions is a story-telling show that has been described by many as Tales from the Crypt meets Welcome to Night Vale. Each episode features tales which were submitted by authors from many horrific and weird genres. Framed around each episodes submissions is a persistent world, narrated by the mysterious Host, which lives from episode to episode. A place and time where deadly conditions have forced humanity to seek shelter underground; to live out the rest of their lives in emergency living quarters beneath the earths scorched crust. The survivors of this apocalypse have taken to sharing stories to pass the time as they wait. These are the stories you hear. Enjoy!

    Episode 08 - Enter the SKYROOM! On the eighth episode of Random Transmissions, something jarring happens: there is NO HOST. For reasons unknown, the Host misses the Squeeze entirely, leaving it to run on automation.     On the third episode of Random Transmissions you are greeted once again with Mother-AI’s familiar voice as she opens the show. Something new happens as she introduces the concept of “lights out”. This is followed by more discussion from The Host. Is his sanity dwindling further? He goes into detail about the first in his pantheon of “Surface Gods”, the Artist. We then learn that there might be more to “The Darkness” than we first thought! Also The Host discusses the absence of pain in their new world thanks to over-developed technology and how some subterrans are rebelling against their “perfect existence” by circumventing the pain management with ancient techniques such as acupuncture. Is pain necessary? The Host believes so. Finally we find out more about Pixel and her connection with The Host. But something seems different… This is followed by more discussion of subterran life from The Host. Has he lost his mind? He believes the blister winds above him are calling out to reclaim his identity. We then learn about “the darkness” and what it means to record the transmissions he is sending out. This is followed by more discussion of the undernent and his info-spelunking. Finally his monologue ends with a discussion of a new character, Pixel, a girl from another pod he had befriended but who has since gone offline with no explanation! What has happened to Pixel? We are not sure, but her absence is a crushing blow to the sanity of The Host. This Episode’s Stories are “Chasing Birds” by author Justin Day and “A Walk to the Creek” by author Sean Kelly.
