The Quantified Self: Exploring the World of Self-Tracking: From steps and heart rates to moods and sleep patterns, quantifying ourselves is becoming an increasingly relevant cultural phenomenon. In this episode, five students of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (Pascalle, Jette, Justine, Clara, and Tara) share their months-long research conducted as part of their Marble Research Based Learning Project. Free Palestine Maastricht is joining the Student Radio to announce Palestine Solidarity Week this May to commemorate 75 years of occupation in Palestine! We discussed the events starting this Friday, the recent local victory in Liège to boycott the Israeli occupation, and the myth of "Israel making the desert bloom" recently used by European Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen. Democratic deficit in the European Union refers to the perceived lack of accountability, transparency, and democracy in the decision-making processes of the EU institutions. Critics argue that the EU's complex system of governance, with a large number of decision-making bodies and a lack of clear lines of responsibility, makes it difficult for citizens to have a say in how the Union is governed. This has led to concerns about a democratic deficit that undermines the legitimacy of the EU and its decision-making processes.
