Binging with Babish, is a YouTube cooking channel created by American filmmaker Andrew Rea (alias Oliver Babish) that recreates recipes featured in film, television, and video games in the Binging with Babish series, as well as more traditional recipes in the Basics with Babish series. The first video in the series was uploaded on February 10, 2016 and today the channel has over 10M subscribers and has expanded into the Babish Culinary Universe. Today we talk to Andrew about his origins and his struggles growing a cooking media empire. 

This week we talk about why one of the biggest creators on YouTube is leaving. We also make a suggestion to YouTube on how they could actually support creator sustainability on the platform. 

Van Neistat is an artist, a filmmaker, a writer and now a YouTube Creator. Van's artistic career started when he began working with NYC contemporary artist, Tom Sachs. He and his brother Casey both worked for Sachs and soon after started creating films together that went viral before the term Viral even existed. They then developed a series of short films that they turned into a TV show that ended up getting picked up by HBO. When HBO didn't renew the series, Casey and Van split up, Casey turned to YouTube to start uploading videos and Van wanted to continue down the path of being a traditional filmmaker. Years later, Van has now turned to YouTube to distribute his work and launched a kickstarter which raised over $120,000 and helped bring his series, The Spirited Man, to life. 

This week we're talking about Amelia Dimoldenberg's hit YouTube Show, Chicken Shop Date. Amelia has been creating content for the past 8 years, starting with a written column and slowly turning it into a hit YouTube Show that has had musicians like Ed Sheeran, KSI, Jack Harlow on. She's even caught the attention of Drake, who recently asked if he could come on the show. In this episode we break down what makes the show successful and pull 7 critical lessons from her 8 year journey as a creator.
