  • You’re Not Just Standing….You’re Positioned

    18/01/2026 Duração: 15min

Why God Uses Faithful People Who Refuse to Move Sometimes obedience doesn’t look like progress. Sometimes faith doesn’t feel victorious. And sometimes standing still feels like failure. In UNC020, Jon Ellis speaks directly to believers who didn’t quit, didn’t compromise, and didn’t walk away, but still feel stuck because nothing has changed. Using Exodus 14 and the moment Israel stood trapped at the Red Sea, this episode reframes waiting as positioning, not punishment. You’ll learn why standing can be the most obedient move you make, why silence doesn’t mean God is absent, and how God often moves only after obedience removes every other option. If you’re faithful but frustrated… If you’re obeying but exhausted… If you’re standing and wondering if it even matters… This episode will help you understand what God is doing while you wait—and why positioned people always see God move. Standing still can

  • Standing isn't Passive: Why Endurance is an Act of War

    11/01/2026 Duração: 16min

Some of you think you’re stuck, but you’re not stuck. You’re standing. And standing is exactly what the enemy hoped you’d stop doing. In this episode of The Uncommon Christian Podcast, Jon Ellis speaks directly to the believer who obeyed God, stood firm, and refused to compromise, but is now growing tired of doing the right thing with no visible results. Drawing from Ephesians 6:13, Galatians 6:9, and the example of Jesus in Gethsemane, this episode reveals why standing isn’t passive, why endurance is spiritual warfare, and how pressure is often the enemy’s strategy when temptation fails. If you’ve been faithful, tired, and wondering if obedience is still worth it, this episode is for you. You’re not weak. You’re not losing. You’re not faithless. You’re standing, and God is not finished. You’re not stuck, you’re standing. In this episode, Jon Ellis explains why endurance is warfare, why weariness isn

  • Overflow Series Part 2: Full of Joy

    11/01/2026 Duração: 38min

Last week, we began a series called Overflow, which stems from one word the Lord spoke to Pastor John in December: full. Jesus said the enemy only comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but He came to bring us a full and abundant life. Jesus also said that what fills you up on the inside will make its way to the surface for all to see. From the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks, and from the root of the tree, the fruit is produced. The overflow of our lives — the things we say and do — is directly connected to what fills us. In the time of the year when people do some self-reflection and are most likely to try to make changes in their lives, the goal is to not focus too much on the outside stuff. What you see is not the problem; it’s the symptom. If you want the overflow of your life to look different, you’re going to have to see what fills your soul. We started off talking about being full of love; this week’s message is Full of Joy.

  • Obedience Is Warfare: Why Following Jesus Is a Fight

    04/01/2026 Duração: 20min

Obedience was never meant to be easy, and Scripture never pretended it would be. In this episode of The Uncommon Christian Podcast, Jon Ellis exposes a truth many believers aren’t prepared for: Obedience is Warfare. If following Jesus has made your life harder, more resisted, or more pressured, not easier, you’re not failing. You’re engaged. Drawing from Ephesians 6, Galatians 5, Luke 4, and 2 Corinthians 10, this episode breaks down why resistance often confirms obedience rather than disproves it. You’ll discover how spiritual warfare usually shows up, not through dramatic encounters, but through delayed obedience, compromise, internal conflict, and thoughts that push you to quit. Jon unpacks how Jesus faced temptation, why the Spirit fills before testing, and how immediate obedience sharpens discernment. You’ll walk away with three Uncommon Steps to help you stand firm, reclaim ground, and live boldly in a culture that pressures compromise. You weren’t sa

  • Overflow Series Part 1: Full of Love

    04/01/2026 Duração: 38min

Lots of people are reflecting on their lives at this time of the year. They feel the disconnect between who they are and who they want to be. All the devil offers is death, destruction, and loss, but Jesus is offering the opposite of that. The “full” life He offers means of the highest quality. It means an abundance, but it starts on the inside. Jesus said in Matthew that what’s on the inside will make its way to the outside. What you are full of on the inside will be obvious through your words and actions. That principle is true for good stuff and for bad stuff. Jesus said that what comes out of your mouth is the overflow of your heart, so if you want your life to look different, you have to change what’s going on inside. This week, we’re kicking off a new series focused on this concept, and we’re starting with the importance of love.

  • A Learned Church Part 2: Paul, the Bondservant

    04/01/2026 Duração: 47min

In this teaching by Pastor Dobbs, he ministers from Philippians 1:1 and Philippians 4:11-13 on Paul's declaration that he was a bondservant. A bondservant is someone who is faithful, loyal and devoted to Jesus Christ. This helped Paul minister to the church at Philippi and this devotion will help us minister to others as well. Scripture: Philippians 1:1 - Paul and Timothy, bondservants of Jesus Christ, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: Philippians 4:11-13 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things, I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Scripture: Philippians 4:11-13 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. • And a Blessed New Year

    28/12/2025 Duração: 27min

As we move from one year to another, many people find themselves hoping for success and direction in the future, and they are often seeking the secret of a divine connection with God. The secret is that there is no secret; it’s been written in the Bible for 2,000 years. If you want to connect and communicate with God in a powerful way, He’s already told us how to do that: prayer. Jesus taught the disciples how to pray in Luke and Matthew. Praying the exact prayer that Jesus taught is a powerful way to pray. If you believe what you’re saying, it will change you, but that prayer really serves as a pattern for us to follow. This week, we’re breaking down the different sections of that prayer, so we know what to include in our own conversations with God.

    28/12/2025 Duração: 54min

In this message by Pastor Dobbs, he ministers from I Corinthians 15:58 and James 1:8 on whether a believer is dogged or double minded. He encourages a believer to be dogged in their choices to obey the Lord for their labor is not in vain for those who carry out the will of God. Scripture: I Corinthians 15:58 - Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. James 1:8 - he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
