  • Stronger Together #5 Finding Your Calling (Even if You Hate Your Current Job) with Andrew Scott

    12/11/2017 Duração: 36min

In modern Christianity, we tend to view jobs as "sacred" (pastor, worship leader, missionary) and "secular" (teacher, police officer, construction worker). But that's not an idea found in the Bible. Rather, it sneaked it's way into Christianity a few hundred years after Jesus. Andrew Scott sees much of the future of spreading the Gospel happening both in the U.S. and around the world, as happening at work.  This episode is about how to find what you love, how to work with excellence when you're there, and how to share the Gospel with the people God puts in front of you while you're doing it.

  • Stronger Together #3 #MeToo: Stopping the Harassment of Women & Children

    24/10/2017 Duração: 30min

When the #metoo hashtag popped up on social media in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, it became obvious that there were countless Christian women who were coming forward with their stories of harrassment and discrimination. All the stories on social media demanded that one question be answered. As Christians, what can we be doing? Nate Larkin leads Samson Society, a nonprofit based out of Nashville, TN, which has worked with people dealing with all kinds of brokenness and looking to be restored in Christ. Nate has seen the harrassment and discrimination of women from every concievable angle, and offers practical advice on what believers can do to right this wrong.

    24/10/2017 Duração: 32min

Dr. Karen Cassiday is the President of the Anxiety and Depression Board of America (and a former Animal Planet TV personality!), and is familiar with the mounting pressure on children and teens in a culture that pushes youth to take on every concievable activity in the name of "preparing for college." How can you dial back the committments and get your family's schedule back under control? Dr. Cassiday breaks down how to raise spiritually, emotionally and physically healthy kids in a culture that wants to push children to their breaking point.

  • Stronger Together #1 Beyond #takeaknee. Becoming neighbors & friends with John M. Perkins and Sam Kenoly

    24/10/2017 Duração: 30min

In our first episode, we avoid the topics that have been utterly exhausted on the 24/7 news cycle, and ask teh question...how do we become better neighbors and friends with people who don't look like us? Two wise voices weigh in. John M. Perkins is an 87 year old civil rights leader who endured beatings at the hands of men who taught Sunday School in his own town. Rather than driving him into hatred, the pain transformed John to deeply understand that God wanted him to love everyone. Perkins holds 13 honorary doctorates, and has served on the boards of World Vision and Prison Fellowship. Sam Kenoly is a worship leader at Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park, IL. Before he had even finished high school, Sam was playing drums at some of the largest worshiop gatherings in the world. Stronger Together is a show about growing in marriage, parenting, relationships and community, and can be heard at 9pm Eastern/8pm Central on Shine.FM.
