Director and CEO of the AllStars Project, Inc., Gabrielle L. Kurlander talks to Deardra Shuler about her lastest directorial project, "The Task" featured at the Castillo Theatre, located at 543 W. 42nd St in NYC. "The Task" is an avante garde play written by German playwright Heiner Muller with an entire black cast some playing white roles. Ms. Kurlander will talk about this rather unusual play, the AllStars Project, the Castillo Theatre and her career.

Harlem born and Philadelpia raised, Allan Alexander Wade (aka A-Dubb)is a self-taught producer, vocalist and All-American track and field star is now working on his passion, music. Deardra Shuler is going to talk to actor Craig Alan Edwards who gives a splendid performance on just that subject. An actor and playwright, Mr. Edwards depicts Dr. King via his one-man show, giving a fictionalized accounting of Dr. Kings last night, on April 3, 1968. Formerly, Ms. Smith teamed up with Phil Donahue as Coordinating Producer for the PBS Presidential Special: "The Issue is Race: A Crisis in Black & White. Also, as Donahue Show producer, her guests included Dick Gregory, Coretta Scott King, and Judith Jamieson. Lillian was an Exec. Producer for Fox TV in LA and Sr Producer/Program Development Specialist for "The Real Bottom Line." She is a recipient of numerous awards including 8 national Emmy nominations.

Deardra interviews legendary vibraphonist Roy Ayers about his upcoming January 16th concert entitled "Roy Ayers 40th Anniversary Concert," held at the Black Spectrum Theatre located in Queens, NY. An R&B bandleader in the 1970s and 80s, Ayers became one of the forebearers of acid jazz. Well known for the song "Everybody Loves the Sunshine," Roy formed the Roy Ayers Ubiquity band in the 1970s, recording albums for Polydor and working with such greats as Miles Davis, the Herbie Hancock Sextet, Sonny Fortune and Omar Hakim. Later he collaborated with Nigerian musician Fela Anikulapo-Kuti whose life story is presently on Broadway in the play "Fela." Ayers has several pop records that garnered commerical success and charted singles on the R&B charts for both Polydor and Columbia.

Deardra talks with San Francisco Choreographer, Alonzo King, who has works throughout the world including with the Swedish Royal Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and more. The founder of the Alonzo King Lines Ballet, Mr. King has been recognized as one of the 50 outstanding artists in America. He has served on the panels for the National Endowment of the Arts, California Arts Council and named a Master of African American Choreography by the Kennedy Center. Mr. King's troupe will be appearing at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in the Bronx on Sunday, January 10th. $10 tickets are available to children and seniors.

Deardra chats with interracial British platinum record award winner singer/songwriter, Billie Myers, best known for her hit "Kiss the Rain," Tell Me" and "You Send Me Flying," about her meteoric rise to fame and her subsequent plummet which kept her out of the music business for 4 years. Painfully honest, Myers talks about racism, depression and her inspirational return to the world of music via her latest CD "Tea & Sympathy."

Actress Denise Fleming has taken her one woman show to the New Heritage Theatre in the Dwyer Cultural Center wherein she depicts this psychological tale. Denise will talk with host Deardra Shuler about her life, the creation of her play, Winterkill, and how she developed the diverse characters.

Deardra interviews producer Robert Friedman of the Moscow Classical Ballet, established by the SSR Ministry of Culture as a ballet troupe whose role is to tour the Soviet Union and foreign countries performing Russian classical ballet in its traditional form. Under the artistic direction of Igor Moiseyev, the company gave its first performance in 1968. Its repertoire consisted of excerpts from classical ballets and choreographic miniatures produced by such choreographers as Vinogradov, Goleizovsky, Messerer and Moiseyev. They are performing the Nutcracker Suite on Sunday, November 29 at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts.

Jazz singer songwriter Cynthia Scott, a former Ray Charles Raelette, talks to Deardra Shuler about her new CD DREAM FOR ONE BRIGHT WORLD, all original material that was the first all original female vocal CD to hit the Jazz Week Charts. Scott has performed in the U.S., Africa, Europe and Asia, worked with the great Ray Charles and Wynton Marsalis and performed at The Kennedy Center. She served as a Jazz Ambassador in conjunction with Kennedy Center and the State Department.

George Clinton of Parliament Funkadelic is a singer, songwriter and Producer. He spawned Funkadelic, a rock group which fused psychedelic guitar distortion, bizarre sound effects and danceable beats. Funkadelic revolutionized the music scene of the 1970s and George Clinton and the Funkadelic were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, earned a Lifetime Achievement Award and was voted to be #6 of the 50 Greatest Bands in the World by Spin Magazine. Mr. Clinton will talk about his life, music and upcoming engagement at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts on November 7.

Multi-grammy winner and Salsa great Eddie Palmieri will talk with Deardra about his life, career and upcoming engagement at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, October 17th. Known for his charismatic power and bold innovative drive, Palmieri has a musical career that spans over 50 years as a bandleader of Salsa and Latin Jazz orchestras. With a discography that includes 36 titles, Mr. Palmieri has been awarded Nine Grammy Awards. He received his first Grammy Award in 1975 for his release The Sun of Latin Music, which is often considered the most historic, as it was the first time Latin Music was recognized by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS).

Nat Adderley, Jr., son of Nat Adderley and nephew of Cannonball Adderley, will be stopping by to talk to Deardra about his upcoming show with the OSPAC Jazz Festival in West Orange, NJ Sept. 12-13. Best known for his work with Luther Vandross, Nat has worked on projects with Beyonce Knowles, Johnny Gil, Natalie Cole, Kirk Whalum, Aretha Franklin, Gloria Lynne, etc. He has worked in theatre and on commerical projects and did all the music that is currently heard in August Wilson's Piano Lesson, a play that is presently touring the USA.

Grammy award winning New York Voices are celebrating their 21st anniversary this year and will be appearing at the OSPAC Jazz Festival in West Orange, NJ, which runs 2 days, Sept, 12-13th.
