The Spanish Flu Pandemic was an unusually lethal strain of avian influenza. Its arrival in 1917 coincided with the end of World War 1, the mass movement of troops aided its spread and within 2 years 500 million people were infected and an estimated 50-100 million people died globally. The idea of a police officer being serial killer is scary and seems unlikely…but it has happened multiple times. In some instances these savages have actually been assigned to their own case’s and investigated the crimes they committed. Questions have been raise after the recent release of photos showing the inside of Epstein's prison cell and images of injuries sustained. There were multiple prison blankets fashioned into nooses in his cell as well as prescription drugs, electrical cords and a suicide note. Is the merging of man and machine inevitable ? Will future humans be unrecognisable to us ? We are already seeing sophisticated technology being embedded in the human body giving the user abilities never seen before in nature. Mind controlled artificial limbs, exoskeleton's allowing paralyzed people to walk again. Could this lead to a dystopian future with a new super elite class of enhanced "cyborgs" ? On 23 January 1974 residents living around the Berwyn Mountain range in Wales witnessed a number of strange lights moving thought the night sky followed by rumbling sounds that build up into an explosion which registered as a 3.5 magnitude earthquake. The military arrived on the scene and sealed off the mountain fuelling suspicion that something strange had crashed. Lights in the sky were seen from as far north as Scotland. Robert Rhoades first murders took place in 1990 during his travels across the US as a truck driver. After picking hitch hikers up, this seemingly charming man would take them captive, holding victims chained up in the back of his cab. The Truck Stop Killer or Robert Ben Rhoades was a serial killer and long haul truck driver who constructed his own personal torture chamber in the cab of his truck. As sexual sadist into long duration torture, he’d pick up his victims hitch hiking across the states, subject them to horrific abuse and bizarre sexual practices before discarding the bodies by the sides of highways. At 11:40 p.m on the 14th April 1912, the Titanic struck an iceberg 400 miles off the coast of Newfoundland. 2 hours 40 minuets later it sank to the bottom of the Atlantic ocean taking 1,500 people with it. A few months before it sank, the Titanic's almost identical sister ship, the Olympic had been involved in an accident and was badly damaged. Dr Harold Shipman was an extremely well respected local GP in Hyde Greater Manchester. A likeable man of the community caring for young and old. This charming educated man also happens to be a serial killer and between 1975 and 1998 he murdered at least 236 people during his 24 year medical career, mostly by massive drug overdose. The chessboard killer or The Bitsa Park Maniac, Alexander Pichushkin was a prolific Russian serial killer active between 1992 and 2006. His goal, if you haven’t already guessed, was to kill a person for every square on the chessboard. In total he bludgeoned to death somewhere between 48–62 people discarding their bodies in the sewers running under Bitsa park in Moscow.
