    08/05/2021 Duração: 03h02min

For those of you unable to appreciate the very music that spawned what you listen to today — songs that are reworked for today's dancefloor, by DJs that have perfected their artistry and are still churning out hit dance songs as I type this — bare with me while I indulge the folks who lived it and know exactly where this music stems from. We've got one more volume to complete this series before launching into the latest Dance Club, Circuit and Anthems, Disco House, and Peak Hour — all guaranteed to drop between now and Memorial Day. • The Ultimate 90’s House Classics [1996 – 1997] Volume 2

    06/05/2021 Duração: 03h06min

Earlier in the decade, Freestyle, Breakbeat, Trip Hop, Hip Hop and Eurodance were all offshoots of House music that went on to be fused together or evolved into their own distinct categories. More notably, the second half of the nineties witnessed a sea change in House music. While Classic House continued to be a staple on dance floors — the sound became more progressive, electronic and tribal as club culture began looking for something fresh and new. Enter Club 69 (Peter Rauhofer), Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, Tony Moran, Hex Hector, Jonathan Peters, Soul Solution, Rosabel (Ralphi Rosario), Razor N' Guido, Vission & Lorimer and a host of others. The one consistent in this area was Junior Vasquez who easily switched between edgy commercial House and the big tribal beats that would eventually claim the dance floor. In fact, it took the Soul Hex remix (Soul Solution + Hex Hector) of Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart" for the labels to take notice after it exploded all over the dance floor. For the sake of t

  • The Ultimate 90’s House Classics [1996 – 1997] Volume 1

    02/05/2021 Duração: 03h43min

Folks, I apologize for being M.I.A. for the past couple of weeks. It's been one nightmare piled on top of another. When I finally had some breathing room to sit down and start working on the next Ultimate 90's House Classics from 1996 to 1997 — I was knee-deep in the first mix before I realized a lot of songs were missing. I had taken a week off late last year to compile all the tracks and placed them in separate folders by year thinking I would be strategic and getting ahead of the game. I only now realized that I either overlooked several must have songs or they disappeared. I'm now questioning every set I've put out so far but it's too late to go back. I had the perfect mix finished when I came to this realization and have been diligently tracking down everything I missed. I got up early this morning to rework this set and am now finished. Better late than never. My mind is fried so I'll be talking about the changes in the musical landscape during this period on the next drop. There will be two to three

  • Spring Edition 2021 | Feel the BURN with the Hottest Circuit Anthems for Spring!

    17/04/2021 Duração: 03h46min

Party Favorz is back with our annual Spring Edition featuring the hottest circuit anthems for what is shaping up to be one HOT summer! While this set had been in the can for just over a week — I was battling issues from all directions playing whack a mole with every new issue that kept popping up. This kept me busy spending most of my days on the phone trying to straighten out other people's bullshit. I had decided to drop one song from the set and replace another with a different version and needed to temper another track that was pitched too high. This appears to be something that several DJs have been doing lately. That is, reducing the bass and pushing the mid and highs up while overcompressing the song. Since I test all my mixes out on Bluetooth headphones, home speaker system and in my car — this new mastering by certain DJs is shrill and hurts the living shit out of my ears. I don't know the purpose of this new technique but it's driving my batshit crazy. As I find them, I go back and temper the hig

  • Let’s Go Dancing | Peak Hour Mayhem!

    10/04/2021 Duração: 02h39min

Party Favorz is back with our latest Peak Hour set featuring the biggest Tech House, Bass House and Electro House tunes currently on our radar with "Let's Go Dancing." This set will fuel your late night parties and is perfect for a intense workout. While there are few surprises here — there are a few tracks that come out of leftfield. Most notable of these is The Sponges "Jerry Brain." The track is considered Bass House but is really more of a Glitch Funk track that jerks you back and forth with a unexpected funky twist that's hard to put into words. I'm fairly confident in stating that there's no other song like it in this set. By infusing modern synths, bass with funky house — The Sponges have set the bar for the future of electronic music. Honestly, I haven't been this excited about a single song since DJ Kid Stretch's breakbeat classic "Get Away" as remixed by Basement Freaks. I may even resurrect in a future set because that song is fresh as when it was first released. I may end up taking a deep dive

  • Spring Break 2021 | Dance Club Party Anthems!

  • Where The Happy People Go | Get Down To The Latest Disco House

    26/03/2021 Duração: 02h49min

Party Favorz is back with our latest Disco House offering "Where the Happy People Go." This set kicks off with some powerhouse disco tracks that will burn the house down. It then transitions into more cosmopolitan disco (which appears be the rage at the moment) before moving into some great vocal house with the awesomeness of Kathy Brown, Siedah Garrett, The Fog, and St. Jude before closing out with Mark White's funkalicious "Supreme." The mix is actually my first draft as I usually knock out the mix first and then go back and add/subtracts songs, make edits or move things around for better flow on the final mix. However, I was working on two sets at once and accidentally overwrote this set with the other causing me to lose everything. In the 14-year span of Party Favorz, this has only happened once before. After listening to this set a few times — I can honestly say that I'm happy with the first draft. I have a special Diva Hall of Fame inductee scheduled to drop for tomorrow. This diva's induction is lo

  • Spring T-Dance 2021 | Spring Forward with the Latest Happy House & Dance Classics

It may still be a bit nippy outside but today is the first day of spring and I can’t think of any better way to celebrate it than with a Tea Dance set. • Ralphi Rosario | Legacy Volume 3

    13/03/2021 Duração: 02h52min

We have reached the third and final volume paying tribute to the master Ralphi Rosario and his legacy. He continues to remix massive hits to this day as in the recent "Rain On Me" by Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande as well as RITMO by Black Eye Peas — both of which were monster hits in the past year and featured on these releases. Rosario's catalog of productions and remixes is vast and diverse going back to 1987 even though he's been perfecting his craft for much longer. His songs and remixes have significantly contributed to the soundtrack of millions of gay boys and girls to not recognizing his work would be a travesty. I hope everyone has enjoyed this tribute series and make sure to hit him up live once things open back up sooner rather than later. I have another master DJ on tap who is Ralphi's peer and his equal. I'll leave that as a tease for now and will start dropping those sometime this next week or so. After, we'll dive right back into our spring series of Circuit & Anthems, Dance Club, Disco House, a

  • Ralphi Rosario | Legacy Volume 2

    12/03/2021 Duração: 02h45min

Party Favorz finally made it through the Ralphi Rosario Legacy series, which I overestimated its depth and ended up expanding to three volumes. Even then, I was loathed to leave many great tracks on the cutting room floor, but when compiling these tribute sets to legends that have been in the business as long as Ralphi has, you have to edit. Volume 2 picks up where we left off with some of his greatest work from over the years including last year's massive "RITMO" by Black Eyed Peas & J Balvin. The hits are included and the one y'all are looking for will make an appearance on volume 3 (you know what I'm talking about). The goal here is to not only showcase the hits but a lot of the underground and lesser-known tracks that were popular in the underground peak hour scene. Never mind that he and Rosabel have done extensive work with Latin artists providing musical touch that only they could master (next to Pablo Flores, Tony Moran, and to some extent Hex Hector, and Junior Vasquez) so I did touch on some of thos

  • Ralphi Rosario | Legacy Volume 1

    07/03/2021 Duração: 04h17min

Ralphi Rosario is an American house musician and founding member of the influential Chicago DJ group Hot Mix 5. The group was formed in 1981 while Ralphi was still in high school at the time the group became one of the major early forces of the burgeoning House Music scene in Chicago. By 1987, he collaborated with Xaviera Gold for "You Used To Hold Me," which was one of the most influential early House Music tracks of all time for what later was a revolution on the dancefloor. While Ralphi continued to put out early House Music releases throughout the nineties — his style rapidly changed when he teamed with Miami's DJ Abel (Aguilera) to form Rosabel a hybrid version of his last name and Abel's first name for a new more tribal house sound that he continued to perfect through today. Later the duo would introduce more Latin influences in their work while producing muscular House Music tracks for major artists that showcased their heritage and alternate musical influences. As a duo they have racked up five #1 B

  • Winter Edition 2021 | Keep Warm With the Season’s HOTTEST Circuit Anthems!

    27/02/2021 Duração: 02h53min

Hell must have frozen over because Party Favorz has been on a roll pushing out the latest circuit anthems that fuel your winter! Next up is the annual Winter Edition in which the 2021 version does not disappoint. This set is packed with the latest circuit anthems and tribal beats a mile high and is the perfect replacement for the 2020 Holiday Edition, which has likely worn itself out in your workout regimen. After spending half the day in Atlanta on Thursday to get our second vaccination or as you call it in the UK "jab," Rick and I were sent home because the state hadn't delivered the treatment until later in the day forcing the doctor's office to cancel all the appointments. They couldn't open up a vile just for us and waste the rest. So, we're heading back to Atlanta shortly to get the second jab and I'm expecting this is the one that knocks me on my ass as the immune system kicks into high gear — or so I'm told. I'm working on some belated Legacy editions that are bound to please and should be droppin

  • The Ultimate 90’s House Classics [1994 – 1995] Volume 4

    13/02/2021 Duração: 02h33min

I realize this feels like a Netflix series that seems to drag on and on but I promise to take a break from the Ultimate 90's House Classics [1994 - 1995] series after this final set. It's not that I don't enjoy revisiting these classics but even for me — it's time to hear something else for a change. That being said, pay close attention to how House Music has been evolving (especially in volumes 3 and 4). There's a reason that Giorgio Moroder is considered the godfather of Techno and frankly House Music. It's because his work as a solo artist and production work with Donna Summer was some of the most advanced electronic dance music and was way ahead of its time in the seventies. As technology improves — much of his work is fully realized by mid-decade. This allowed House Music to branch off into a multitude of sub-genres, which have all culminated into the familiar sounds we hear today. Undoubtedly, the 90's produced some groundbreaking dance music and many of the DJs and producers you see in the credits ar
