  • Food Sensitivity Testing

    01/09/2017 Duração: 55min

Every year, 12 million Americans have negative reactions to the food they eat – of which, 30,000 of them will have to see medical attention some reactions are food ALLERGIES like nut or fish allergies and they are pretty easy to diagnose. Food SENSITIVITIES, on the other hand, are much more complicated and often go undiagnosed. Food sensitivities can lead to chronic conditions such as migraines, eczema, arthritis, obesity, weight gain, Crohn’s disease and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), depression and chronic fatigue. Symptoms can occur several hours, or even days after exposure making it extremely difficult to pinpoint the cause. The delay between exposure and symptoms makes the Alcat Test an invaluable tool to identify reactive foods and substances.

  • Infections: An Important Contribution to Autoimmunity Disease

    25/08/2017 Duração: 59min

Occult infections are risk factors for various diseases including heart disease and autoimmune disease. Bacterial, viral and parasite infections may be major contributors to autoimmune disease. In this program you will learn how to identify occult infections, to identify which infections are feeling autoimmune diseases and how to minimise the adverse effects of these infections.

  • The End of Alzheimer's: reversing Cognitive Decline

    18/08/2017 Duração: 56min

The global burden of dementia is staggering—it is a trillion dollar problem—and it is growing. Of the currently living Americans, about 45 million will die with Alzheimer’s disease (about 15% of the population). 75 million have the important genetic risk factor, ApoE4. Cognitive decline associated with Alzheimer’s disease and its precursors (MCI and SCI) can be prevented and reversed. The optimal approach for complex chronic illnesses such as Alzheimer’s disease is not a mono therapy but a personalized program that addresses all of the contributors. The many cases of Alzheimer’s disease are associated with metabolic and hormone abnormalities and exposures to pathogens including viruses, bacteria, metabolic and olds and mycotoxins, Dr. Bredesen has reversed cognitive decline in several hundred people on his personalized protocol, with unprecedented success. His book, The End of Alzheimer’s: the first program to prevent and reverse cognitive decline comes out on August 22, .

  • Nutrient Therapies in Mental Disorders

    11/08/2017 Duração: 56min

Each human being has unique biochemistry which results in diverse nutritional needs. Individuals may be deficient in certain nutrients and overloaded in others. Advances in epigenetic science have sealed the powerful impact of nutrients on gene expression and have enabled improved treatment for mental disorders. Neurotransmitters, which are instrumental in mental disorders, appear to be epigenetic in absorption , metabolism and storage of key nutrients. For example we now understand that methionine and SAMe act as serotonin reuptake inhibitors, and folates and niacinamide depress neurotransmission at dopamine receptors. For the first time we are able to adjust gene expression of enzymes that may be a improper levels. Dr. Walsh has accumulated a data base of over 10,000 patients and shares his nutrient supplementation to patients with mental conditions such depression, schizophrenia, autism and Alzheimer's Disease

  • The Gut Makeover Diet

    04/08/2017 Duração: 55min

Most experts say that diet and gut health (the micro biome) are essential to health. How do we insure that our gut is healthy? Jeannette Hyde in her recent book, The Gut Makeover, lays out the easy steps to get the listener on the road to gut health. Jeannette discussed her book and shares the results of her research on diet and its connection to health.

  • Nutrition for you Dog

    28/07/2017 Duração: 54min

We have learned a lot about nutrition for humans and the importance of organic non processed foods. Is it any different for our four legged friends? Why give real food to dogs when you can always open a bag or can? The reason is dogs are real live beings and they need real food. We would never think of only feeding our children out of a bag or a can for the rest of their life.. and certainly not the same foods day in and day out. It’s just common sense. Dogs have lived with humans for at least 40,000 years, some experts think much longer. And these dogs have been eating the same foods as humans for that long. It was only about 100 years ago that big food companies realized how much money they could make with their manufactured food waste.

  • ADHD: an integrated approach

    21/07/2017 Duração: 57min

ADHD in increasing in our society. It is not a disease, a behavioural disorder or a discipline problem. It is a medical disorder in which genetic, neurological, nutritional & environmental factors imbalance the brain causing imbalanced behaviour. The current conventional treatment are medications and behavioural therapy. In his book Finally Focused, Dr Greenblatt clearly describes a sip-by-stp approach to minimise symptoms and unleashes potential.

  • Frequency Specific Microcurrent in healing

    14/07/2017 Duração: 57min

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) is changing the way physicians and patients think about treatment options for pain and many other medical conditions. Exciting data and 20 years of clinical evidence show how frequencies and resonance can be used instead of medications, nutrients and chemical interactions to change tissues and symptoms. The new book, The Resonance Effect, describes how FSM was discovered and developed, how it's changing medicine and how you can use resonance to change lives, including your own.

  • Weeds for health

    07/07/2017 Duração: 55min

If you find the unwanted weeds growing in your back yard annoying, you may be missing out on a free lunch. These pesky weeds may contain more nutrition that you will find at the grocery store. These unwanted intruders are rich in antioxidants, vitamins and protein . Beryl will explain the healing properties of common weeds and how you can make tinctures, soups and meals with the weeds in your back yard.

  • GMOs: The Twisted Truth

    30/06/2017 Duração: 56min

Although it purports to be based on solid science and the open flow of information on which science depends, the massive venture to reconfigure the genetic core of the world’s food supply has substantially relied on the propagation of falsehoods. Its advancement and very survival have been crucially and chronically dependent on the misrepresentation of reality — to the extent that more than thirty years after the creation of the first genetically engineered plant, the vast majority of people the world-over (including most government officials, journalists, and even scientists) continue to be misled about the important facts. Moreover, contrary to what people would expect, the biotechnology industry has not been the main source of the deceptions. Instead, the chief misrepresentations have been issued by respected government agencies and eminent scientists and scientific institutions.

  • Nutrition: preventing and reversing chronic diseases

    23/06/2017 Duração: 53min

Dr. Steve Blake designed and helped implement the Hawaii Dementia Prevention Trial, a clinical study at the Hawaii Alzheimer's Disease Center. His study found that changes in nutrition could affect the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. Parkinson’s disease is also powerfully affected by diet. Reducing protein to just the needed amount can allow much better production of dopamine with the potential to cut symptoms in half. With migraines, avoiding dietary triggers can help reduce the frequency and severity of migraine headaches. He emphasizes that we can no longer ignore the role of diet in neurologic disorders. He discusses how nutrition can reverse atherosclerosis and hypertension. He found this was a successful approach in improving cognitive functioning in persons with mild cognitive impairment, in preventing strokes, and in reversing atherosclerosis and hypertension.

  • Metabolic Code: How we can Guide our Health

    16/06/2017 Duração: 53min

Metabolism is more than calories in and out. The body is finely tuned like a symphony with many intricate parts. There are so many interconnected systems, that it is difficult to know where to start in the journey towards optimal health. Dr. LaValle simplifies this process with the Metabolic Code which simplifies this process both for clinicians and patients. Many clinicians are adopting the results of his research. Also discussed are the importance of sleep, the adverse effects of cortisol, the measurement of the cortisol response, and what laboratory tests you should ask your doctor for. Also, as a pharmacist, he believes that people are being over medicated. Each pharmaceutical drug can deplete essential nutrients needed by the body resulting in additional symptoms and the possible prescription of additional drugs. Learn where to start in your healing journey, what tests to ask your doctor for, and pharmaceuticals effects on essential nutrients.

  • Functional Neurology

    09/06/2017 Duração: 56min

Functional Neurology looks at the underlying functioning of the nervous system. While allopathic neurology can diagnose gross pathology such as a stroke or traumatic brain injury: functional neurology can pinpoint functioning of specific parts of the brain. Such studies include studies with the eyes (saccades (rapid movements from point to point), pupil reflexes) and other neurological assessments. Brain imbalances can be identified long before the pathology points to a specific diagnosis. Once brain imbalances are identified, individualized treatment plans can be prepared to reverse the damages. Periodic assessments can track the improved status of brain in response to treatment. The causes of such brain imbalances can be many such as toxins, infectious process such as lyme disease, metabolic disorders such as blood sugar irregularities and hormone imbalances. It is important to seek and treat the underlying cause as well.

  • Light Therapy: New Frontiers of Medicine

    02/06/2017 Duração: 58min

Len discusses the applications of low energy photon therapy. This therapy increases circulation, releases nitric oxide, activates stem cells, stimulates collagen production, increases ATP energy production by 40 %, reduces inflammation, and increases lymphatic drainage. It also is anti-microbial (blue light), modulates the immune responses and reduces the excitability of nervous tissues. Len has found it helpful in treating dental problems, pain, soft tissue injuries, would healing, and heart disease. Learn about light therapy and how it helps us move towards optimal health.

  • The Alzheimer's Antedote

    26/05/2017 Duração: 55min

In the West, at age 85, the chances of having Alzheimer's Disease is fifty percent. Forgetting names and forgetting why we go into a room could be harbingers of future cognitive decline. As there is no magic pill to treat Alzheimer's Disease, prevention is important. Some scientists refer to Alzheimer's Disease as diabetes, type three. A Harvard Study in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2013 showed that elevated blood sugar correlated with the development of dementia. Diabetes increases the risk of dementia four times, and a high carbohydrate diet increases the risk of dementia by 88 %. High blood sugar shrinks the hippocampus (the brain memory center). Amy connects the dots between the effects of sugar and insulin on cognitive decline and what we can do to prevent cognitive decline.

  • Gut Health: Why it Matters

    19/05/2017 Duração: 55min

The gut is at the root of many diseases. A balanced, diverse microbiome (gut bacteria) is essential for health. Reduced microbiome diversity has been linked to increased gut permeability, autoimmune, metabolic and inflammatory diseases, diabetes (types 1 and 2), obesity, Alzheimer’s, MS, autism, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease. When the gut microbiota is altered or disrupted, it is referred to as “dysbiosis,” which results in the gut becoming inflamed and permeable (“leaky gut”). A leaky gut allows substances to pass through the walls of the gut into the blood stream. This leads to inflammation and oxidative stress - triggers for chronic diseases. A permeable gut also can start an autoimmune response because antibodies are formed against the food proteins that pass through the wall of the gut. Gut health is intricately connected to brain health. You will learn about gut health and how it effects overall health.

  • Keys to a long, healthy life

    12/05/2017 Duração: 54min

Dr Friedlander discusses the best forms of protein, fats, carbohydrates, exercise and nutrients that support positive epigenetic factors and longevity. Proteins high in the amino acids proline, lysine, glycine and alanine have shown in studies to extend life span, support repair, wound healing, immune function, thyroid, bone density, skin and arteries. Reducing intake of inflammatory proteins such as tryptophan, methionine and cysteine (typically found in lean meats, chicken and whey protein) extends life span as well. Fat laden grass fed meats are better Reducing polyunsaturated fats such as corn oil, safl ower, sun ower, and canola is important, as these oils lead to aging, via the mechanisms of glycation (bonding of a protein or lipid molecule to sugar molecule). Glycation results in a loss of artery elasticity, aging skin and damage to DNA and mitochondria. Dr. Friedlander discusses methylene blue and collagen as and life style choices that promote longevity.

  • Vitamins and Minerals Effects on Aging

    05/05/2017 Duração: 54min

Dr. Ames will discuss his research on the role of vitamins and minerals in health and aging. Through his theory of triage, when nutrition is lacking, the body puts its resources into every day activities at the expense of DNA and damaged protein repair. Each junk food meal sacrifices protein and DNA repair which eventually leads to DNA damage and chronic diseases. Caloric restriction, mitochondria health and obesity are as well as vitamins and minerals that promote longevity will be discussed.

  • Homeopathy: A Tool for Healing

    28/04/2017 Duração: 55min

Homeopathy is a system of medicine created by Samuel Hahnemann in the 1700s is based on the concept of like cures like. It uses minute doses of natural substances that in a health person would produce symptoms of disease. It can be used in conjunction with all other healing modalities. It is used widely through out Europe and was common in the US until the 1900s. There were may US homeopathic medical schools including Boston university, the University of Michigan, Univ of Minnesota and the Univ of Iowa. Western (allopathic) medicine focuses on limiting symptoms whereas homeopathy focuses on supporting the body's natural defenses. For example a fever is a symptom for which physicians give medications to reduce. The homeopath believes that a fever accompanies the body's attempt to expel unwanted pathogens and will give minute doses of natural substances that support the underlying defenses causing the fever. Learn how you can use homeopathy in your healing path

  • Self Biohacking

    21/04/2017 Duração: 52min

Biohacking is the approach of assessing body functioning and assessing the impact of life style choices. Steve Fowkes, an expert in biohacking, discusses how we can determine if our metabolism is fast or slow, the physical manifestations of the metabolism rate, and how we can hack / alter our metabolism rate. He discusses the body's pH as an important mechanism in health and its role in circadian rhythms. This goes beyond the message of alkalinize as it depends on the individual, the time of day and his life style choices. He will tell you how to hack your own pH and circadian rhythms for optimal performance and health. Other self tests discussed include: An easy self assessment for a coagulopathy as well as approaches for for modifying/ hacking its impact. He will also discuss a simple self test to assess carbon dioxide levels.
