‘It’s Progress Jim, But Not as We Know It!’ Chelsea FanCast #1104
29/01/2024 Duração: 01h38minStamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Marco Worrall to look back at the 0-0 draw against Aston Villa and ahead to Wednesday night's match against Liverpool. In part one we look back at the 0-0 draw in the FA Cup against Aston Villa. The injury curse strikes again as Colwill withdraws but his replacement Gilchrist did well. Chelsea were dominant in the first half but, wash, rinse, repeat - can’t score, although Martinez is a top keeper and kept them in it. Chelsea were on the front foot, pressing and were up for it and the atmosphere was rocking as a result. In the second half we tired, and Petrovic kept us in it.We ask was the Ref Taylor in disguise? And discuss Mudryk and Broja being truly hopeless; it was like playing with 9 men when they came on. But it was a very good performance, especially the pressing, just a frustrating result. We potentially have Leeds at home next if we can beat Villa in the replay – but can we?In part two we preview the Liverpool v Chelsea match on Wednesday night, kick

Palmer was outstanding and Chilwell is a class above. Well done too to Colwill and Disasi and while Sterling is frustrating he had a good game in reality. However, patience with Mudryk appears to be growing thin judging by the berating he got from Enzo and Chilwell and Broja continues to play with angst. But Chelsea reach their 18th Wembley final since 2000 which considering everything that’s going this season is huge.In part two we welcome back Justin Hawthorne from Up The Villa for the Opposition View. We talk to Justin about the secret of Emery’s success this season? Which players have impressed? What’s more important – a trophy or a top 4 finish? Can Vill

‘Stressful!’ Chelsea FanCast #1099
15/01/2024 Duração: 01h47minStamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Marco Worrall, Chelsea author and Gate 17 publisher to look back at Chelsea's 1-0 win over Fulham. In part one we discuss Chelsea's laborious first half AGAIN with too many touches and often poor ones; too slow in the build up and of course no idea how to hit the back of the net. Until referee Anthony Taylor shocked the entire world by awarding Chelsea a penalty at the end of the half, which Cole Palmer put away for his 9th goal of the season. The second half was much better with more energy, pressing and more direct with both Sterling and Gallagher hitting the post. But Chelsea couldn’t kill the game off and the last 10 minutes was a shambles, aided and abetted by Taylor and Keystone Kops defending, with stupid free kicks given away, running into defenders and wrong passes. At least we cheered the hoofs up field as Chelsea eventually saw the game out, but it was stressful! In part two we praise Petrovic who was quietly impressive again. Should he be Chelsea

Chelsea FanCast Preview Show #1098
12/01/2024 Duração: 01h51minStamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Clayton Beerman to look back at a miserable night in Middlesbrough and ahead to Saturday's match against Fulham. In part one we look back at the shocking 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. It was all so predictable - concede first and can’t break a side down. Defensive errors are still rife. Injuries yes, inexperience yes but no excuse for a lack of desire, football intelligence and execution. It’s only half-time – 1-0 down and should be retrievable but…is Pochettino’s position really in jeopardy? In part two we welcome back Dom Betts from The Fulhamish Podcast to 'The Opposition View'. We discuss Fulham’s season so far , has it been a bit up and down? How have they coped without Mitrovic? How is Willian doing? Can you get to the Carabao final and what would he think of a Chelsea v Fulham final? And we ask Dom how he sees it going on Saturday and what is his prediction? In part three JK reports back on todays the presser

‘Preston North Ended!’ Chelsea FanCast #1097
08/01/2024 Duração: 02h46sStamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Dean Mears to look back at Chelsea's 4-0 win in the FA Cup against Preston North End and ahead to Tuesday's Carabao Cup semi-final against Middlesbrough. In part one we discuss Chelsea's poor first half against Preston North End. Were Chelsea complacent, taking Preston lightly? Preston did a good job with 3 at the back and 5 out of possession and kept Chelsea going side to side and at arm’s length. And why do players such as Moises, Sterling and Enzo not impose themselves on the game or take it by the scruff of the neck?In part two Poch gave a much needed and effective half-time hairdryer to the players. As a consequence, Chelsea pushed Preston back, Palmer played higher up the pitch and they were more aggressive with more intent. Broja scored a proper strikers goal and his confidence appeared to come back, as did Chelsea's while Preston's dissipated. Goals from Silva, Sterling and Emzo put the game to bed. All in all it was a poor first half and an excell

Chelsea FanCast Preview Show #1096
05/01/2024 Duração: 01h50minStamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Mark Meehan to look ahead to Saturday's FA Cup 3rd round tie against Preston North End,In part one JK gives his summary of today's presser. We also discuss why are there so many injuries in the game currently and why is the ‘Magic of the Cup’ important? In part two we preview the Chelsea v Preston North End match starting with Chidge's team selection. Will there be big changes or not? As founders of the football league, Preston North End have a rich history having won the double in the inaugral season and the title again the next season. They've been starved of success since the late 1960's but with former players including Sir Tom Finney can boast a fine pedigree. They’ll be bringing 6,000 and will be up for it. Manager Ryan Lowe wants them to enjoy the day out, but they'll no doubt be looking for a cup upset. But they've been in middling form in the Championship, have been poor away and Cup form in recent years has not been impressive. With no european footba

‘Mad Hatters!’ Chelsea FanCast #1095
02/01/2024 Duração: 01h43minStamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Tony Glover to look back at a mad match against the Hatters last Saturday. In part one we ask did Poch get the line upright as Chelsea made a eally good start but a terrible finish. For once goals were not the problem - Palmer is different class and a great finish from Madueke with a great build up too. Jackson divided opinion but got kicked a lot, played some good balls through tracked back and defended well too. He looks better out wide than up front. Broja on the other hand…In part two we look at the second half where Chelsea went all Dracula, with Chong and Doughty outstanding as Luton could have scored 4 or 5. Silva was the reason they didn’t. He’s still a cut above but does he need better than Disasi or Badiashile next to him. Perhaps Colwill when Chilwell returns?Petrovic was superb again making some good saves and kicking long; a great tactical move to negate Luton which worked until Luton went wide. But did Poch get it wrong with his subs and game mana

29/12/2023 Duração: 02h14minStamford Chidge and Jonathan Kydd are joined by Martin Wickham to look back at the win against Palace, the defeat to Wolves and ahead to Saturday's match against Luton. In part one we look back at Wednesday night's win against Palace. We ask is it all about the win? Gusto was superb; Gallagher great; Nkunku class; Mudryk improving; Madueke, Lavia and Gilchrist had good cameos – does this offer a glimmer of hope? And is it time to cut Jackson some slack? We discuss our defensive concerns and whether Chelsea are a talented bunch of individuals but not a team, all while our home form is improving. In part two we look back at the defeat to Wolves: a case of same shit different day – the better team but hopeless up front. We discuss Sterling’s criminal miss, Nkunku’s debut, the team's poor discipline and Chelsea's dreadful away form.In part three we look ahead to Saturday's match against Luton. JK reports on Pochettino's press conference and Chidge reveals his team selection. Luton will be a tough nut to

Mudryk, the enigma wrapped around an enigma. Playing full backs works, please try it again! Gallagher – the glue that binds it together? And ask is it early days for Nkunku? In part two we look ahead to the Wolves match on Sunday. 18/12/2023 Duração: 01h36minStamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Mark Worrall to look back at Saturday's victory over Sheffield Utd and ahead to Tuesday night's match against Newcastle Utd.In part one we discuss the win over Sheffield Utd where the 1st half looked like déjà vu – low block, possession, and no goal threat but Poch’s 2nd half tactical change paid dividends. Palmer, Gallagher & Moises were the stand out performances and Jackson scored his 7th goal of the season but...And while back to back wins in the league for the first time in over a year brought palpable relief, was the poor atmosphere a sign of the times or to do with something else? In part two we preview the Carabao Cup quarter final against Newcastle Utd. JK sums up todays presser and Chidge reveals his team selection.
