For various reasons some (the scoffers) refuse the invitation while others (the wise) say yes. The point of the story is to choose wisdom over all other options. God builds the universe even as we build a house. Both with planning, skill and wisdom. Both are done in time and over time step by step with intelligence, grace and care.
