Drinkalong With Dave & Jeremy

A classic episode from the depth of the DrinkAlong archives.  This is Episode Two, where Dave and Jeremy drink Collingwood Whiskey.  First aired in early 2013, this is really when the DrinkAlong formula started to gel. Still playing with the format and not entirely about craft beer, you can STILL hear enthusiasm in the lads voices. How the years do change a man! It's been too long to keep you good folks thirsty, so here's a couple of pints to start the Summer season. The Barkeeps start with a few offerings from Nickel Brook. That goes as well as can be expected. Then then try some Dead Elephant IPA from Railway City and rant about Mike Myers and the downfall of comedy. In comes Sweetgrass to save the day. Recorded LIVE at the Black Swan, the Barkeeps try a little Steamwhistle and Cameron's Auburn Ale in front of a humble, but appreciative, audience.  Navigating through a music trivia challenge, Booze in the News, Tweets of the Week and a new segment called "What Were They Drinking?", your hosts make the most of a warm spring evening, recording a live show above a bar with a live band. Today's Tastings: Granite Brewery's Peculiar, Sawdust City's Lone Pine IPA and Trafalgar's Smoked Oatmeal Stout. Enjoyed with writer, actor and director, Matt Gorman. We discuss beer, regional accents, Pope John Paul II and the inside scoop on dairy commercials. It's more fun than it sounds and, thanks to the new DrinkAlong studio, it sounds pretty darn good.  

Fun Fact: Many years ago there were three brothers who went by the name Belfry. Their goal was to make scary movies... but they never got around to it. Now, for the first time EVER, they finish what they started! Join Robyn Belfry (Jeremy), Cliff Belfry (David) and our very special guest, Basil Belfry AKA Actor, Improv Artist, Canadian Comedy Award Nominee (for Reid Along with Browning) and best bud, Sean Browning. Listen as we sample some light beer and talk about farting in front your wife, being a stay-at-home father, and Colin, the young man sealed in the wall of the DrinkAlong studios. Go Canada, Go. Recorded the day after the Men's Hockey gold medal match! The Barkeeps rise to the occasion in a display of patroitism so profound it would have John A. Macdonald, Johnny Canuck and, oh... let's just say, Vindicator all green with envy. They also try to stoke the flames of the biggest, baddest feud the internet has ever seen. [Think Rhihanna vs. Ciara, but EPIC] Seriously... we took one for the team on this outing, so don't say we don't do anything for ya. Love, Dave & Jeremy 

Fresh off the heels of a screening of the new RoboCop movie, the barkeeps are in deep with a review of the re-imagining of the film that they think everyone should have to see at least once.  To assist them, they pick up a couple cans of Double Trouble Brewing Company's Hops and Robbers IPA and Prison Break Pilsner. Spoiler Alert... Nothing can dull the pain of watching your beloved franchise fall into the hands of amateur writers, directors and producers. Part men. Part beer. All RoboCop.    

The Barkeeps try a little Wellington Imperial Russian Stout with a side of Amsterdam's Vicar's Vice. Why? Because sometimes it's fun to try two 8% beverages back to back on a Sunday afternoon. They talk about Barrie, Ontario and Mexicans and bad experiences dining out. They revisit what happens to you the day after you enjoy a Tom Green Milk Stout. RoboCop makes an appearence and there's not one but TWO Booze in the News stories. Honestly... This episode is just the worst.  Final ratings did not make it to air, so you'll have to try these two brews and judge for yourself.  It's worth the effort. DrinkAlong, don't drink alone.
