Later on, host Patrick Sharkey talks to some local podcast aficionados, including friend of the station John Moe, about the podcast medium and its increasing popularity. Jackie Renzetti will also be bringing us this week’s word on the street, and Patrick will talk to the K’s music director about this week’s weekly release spotlight.

    We’re telling stories of diversity, and achievement in spite of an unbalanced playing field. We are in midst of momentous social and cultural movements, with Minnesota rising to be an important stage for these changes taking place. It’s widely known and scrutinized that Minnesota isn’t the most diverse state in the US, nor is it the most equipped to benefit people of color. Though as we hear on this week’s show, there is hope and progress for equal treatment and opportunities to prosper. David Lein profiles a political candidate unlike anyone else and Max Fuller explores the lack of diversity in Hollywood. The 1984 critical and commercial hit has inspired sequels, remakes, comic books, television shows, and now, a radio play, performed by members of Radio K and produced by Matthew Curtis.

Jackie Renzetti uncovers a mystery that has long plagued the Campus Connector program, and Marcheta Fornoff finds out what it takes to be a Minneapolis Bus Driver.
