About ten years ago, I heard the parable of “The Mexican Fisherman” for the first time. Back then, I totally bought into the message of the story. The message, as I interpreted it, was that we should avoid building a big business as a means of building wealth. Instead, we should be satisfied doing the work that allows us to meet our needs and enjoy the simple/important things in life. Lately, I've been thinking about how this parable presents a false dichotomy. In this episode, I share why I feel that hundreds of people's lives, including the lives of his wife and children, would benefit from him building the bigger boat and growing his business. I was recently interviewed on the Grace On Fire podcast hosted by Dr. Jonathan G Smith. In the interview, I shared four limiting beliefs that will keep you from living the life for which you were created. I had intended to cover this as a topic on my show at some point in the future.
