My friend, Chris, sent me an email that linked the the photo shared above. His email said… “Hi Cliff, I saw this post in my LinkedIn feed today. Have you ever heard of the article titled “1000 True Fans” by Kevin Kelly? This article came out at a powerful moment in my life, back in 2008, just after I transitioned into full-time self employment. I was looking to find a way to build a profitable business around the content, products and services that I created. Sure, I was blessed to have already grown a relatively nice sized audience from my first two years of podcasting as a hobby. However, I was not famous and I certainly didn't have millions of fans. I'll admit that I had a bit of anxiety about whether or not I'd be able to build my audience to a level that would allow me to be successful with my new business venture. One thing I've learned over the past decade is that there seems to be endless opportunties when it comes to generating an income with your internet connection. In this episode, I feature a weird mix between a conversation and an interview with my great friend, Jake Lang. I'm still trying to navigate the concept of having guests on this podcast. Jake has had a unique journey in creating an online business.
