Derek is an organizer, communist thinker, and educational theorist who teaches classes in philosophy and history of education. He received his PhD in cultural foundations of education from Syracuse University. His research examines the educational logics at work in political, economic, and social systems, what educational theory can offer contemporary political movements, and how education can help us re-imagine and re-enact our ways of being-together. He has written and edited six books and published in a variety of journals. He is associate editor of Issues in Teacher Education and chair of the education department at The Hampton Institute. His most recent book is Education and the production of space: Political pedagogy, geography, and urban revolution. Mitchell Abidor is the principal French translator for the Marxists Internet Archive. He is a writer and translator living in Brooklyn. His previous books are 'The Great Anger: Ultra-Revolutionary Writing in France from the Atheist Priest to the Bonnot Gang' and 'Communards: The Paris Commune of 1871 as Told by Those Who Fought It'. Scott Crow is an American anarchist organizer, speaker and writer. A longtime activist, he is an advocate for the philosophies and politics of anarchism. In addition to a number of other groups, Crow is a co-founder of Common Ground Collective or Common Ground Relief, an anarchist organization formed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. His book Black Flags and Windmills: Hope, Anarchy and the Common Ground Collective details those efforts.
